A look at the components and a discussion about the game and some changes I shall make.

I like the new intro. The graphics in this are, as you say, excellent. The paintings on the reverse of the cards are a nice touch that speaks of quality and attention to detail on the part of the designers/makers. Like you I am a tinkerer, but I have found, over the years, that it really pays-off to play the game 'as is' a few times. That brings out the subtleties and often leads to better 'homebrew' decisions for me. Another great review, Thanks.

Thanks Coughka, I will certainly play the game as is for a fast and fun game. The Flying Colors will be used when I create scenarios of my own. I am a big fan of the Richard Bolitho novels and would love to fight some of his battles.

Thanks for showing. Have this one on the list of "think before you buy" exactly for that reason to be the campaign board but having the battles solved in FC or miniatures.

My thoughts exactly, I shall play it as is, for a fast easy play game, but for my own scenarios it has to be FC to fight the battles.

@@TheDiomedef16 If I do it i'll have to magnetise it ( and buy some magnetic counter holders ) as to keep it on the wall :) and as it does looks good it might be the excuse I need.

Your right. It would be easy transferring the battles to FC. Good idea. Following along. ~K

Cheers Kurtus, it just seems the natural thing to do if a realistic battle is wanted. It is perfectly fine as is for a quick game.

Thats an interesting looking game of strategy for the period. Plus no rigging to do!

Lol yes, that is an added bonus. It is an excellent game and does do what it says on the box.

Always enjoy these strategical type games. Got Empire of the Sun recently but sadly I am struggling a bit with the rules.

Yes this type of game allows for so much scope and scenario creation. I did look at Empire of the Sun, which has a high rating and is very popular. I shall watch a few plays on YT to help me make up my mind.

Oh dear, I will have Grace telling me off for leading you astray buddy. The game is excellent and does exactly what the designer claims. Fast play too, if you use the basic ship combat system.
