If you mean the one the Russian Federation has now, then they’re the same. The instrumental is the same, the lyrics were rewritten. If you’re talking about the Patriotic song, I fully agree

Real heads know 🚩 The RF one has nationalistic Russian and religious overtones 🤢 and is played usually at a different tone.

Even so, this version continues to be played every time the New Year comes. It was last played on New Year's Eve 1991. June 1, 2022 6:08PM

Actually the Stalin one (1944) version was not actually played on New years in the Soviet Union, they lost the recording of the anthem so someone replaced it with the Stalin version, instead of the 1977 version for some reason?

It is still played just under different name - State Anthem of Russian Federation instead of the previous one - State Anthem of Soviet Union

As the bell striked, the crowds were silent... as usual! I was freaked at first when the bell rang because I got super like... Woahhha!! Wheeyaaa! I was freaked. Although the anthum came out, it rang out. Although happy new year!

Also, I think back in the day that they would take some recordings of the Ussr and just mash all the recordings into 1. For this one though, at 1:37, you can see one of the cars fidget to a previous spot, showing us that the recording for that video was a loop or something. Still beautiful though.
