Soviet Union had the best music. Growing up in the waning years of the Cold War, I was taught that the USSR were the bad guys, that it was an evil oppressive empire and the USA was the freest country to have ever existed, but from what I've learned as I got older I had everything backwards

i feel bad for anyone that legitimately believes communist russia or china were better than the us, so deluded that those hundreds of millions purposefully killed just slip their minds. the us was (and is) by no means perfect, but by any measure it has consistently been a freer, less violent, and richer society than china or russia to this day

I'm neither white, nor Russian, not a Slav, not even a communist. For some unexplained reason, I am always crying with tears because of this song. This song helps to uplift my poor soul and look on the positive side of life. It helps me to understand my weakness as well. I want to thank the composer who made this song. No bullshit. This song is the reason why I am alive.

+DenikadBRO Лещенко пел в 30-х, и к данной переработке прибег, очевидно, чтобы румынские власти не обвинили его в коммунистической пропаганде. По этой же причине в версии Лещенко есть и другие забавные искажения: вместо "От Москвы до самых до окраин" - "ОТ Хуши до самых до окраин" (Хуши - это городок на восточной границе Румынии) и вместо "Словно Волга полная течет" - "Словно вольная река течет".

The number is 100.000 And did you even read the text? Many Americans were killed and deported by soviet agents. It‘s the exact opposite of freedom!

There is something strange with Russian music, no not the modern stuff what they’re pulling with. But songs like these.. there’s a force that is bringing me closer and closer to Russia. Even though I’m a die-hard libertarian that supports anarchism I cannot help but feel homage to the Soviet Union. No matter what, not the polices, not the government. Развал страны, что создавалась для народа. Нашу страну, СССР называли, Нашу страну, для народа создали. Честно, во благо, трудился народ. Двигал отчизну, только вперед. Мог в СССР, ты всему научиться. Было дано для любого, всегда. Выучил что, применить, воплотиться. То, что мы жизнью зовем, иногда. Наших детей , СССР, всех любил. Строил всем ясли, сады разводил. Дома пионеров - пример тому, Где обучали тогда нас всему. Многим народ тогда увлекался: В науке, искусстве он развивался. Космических целей он достигал. И многое в мире, он воплощал. И отдохнуть мог, и подлечиться Здесь в санаториях, не за границей. Жизнь для народа была не насилие. Но многие видели в этом - бессилие. Да, люди всегда хотят побольше, И это, конечно, надо знать. А кто-то сыграл, отлично на этом. Тогда это было - не понять. И постепенно страну развалили, Создав настоящий здесь - беспредел: Все что возможно, себе прихватили, Быть богатеем, кто захотел. А развалили все хитро и просто: Пообещав побольше свобод. Только свобод для себя, конечно, Которых ты не получишь, народ.
