Coming this July, The #June16Imbizo is a 3-part Live Stream commemoration event to celebrate South African Youth Day under lockdown, and to honor & remember the heroic youth generation responsible for the Soweto Uprising of June 16, 1976.
Presented by the #WeUprising Movement, powered by The Box Shop Lifestyle on Vilakazi Street, and in partnership with Soweto Surf - The #June16Imbizo live stream recording showcases a new wave of local South African township youth talent - plus exclusive interviews with South African social media sensation Killer Kau, the new kid on the block @Retha_RSA, the city mayor of Johannesburg Geoff Makhubo, and much much more.
The #June16Imbizo was streamed live on 16 June 2020 and the live stream recording will debut in July 2020 on the WeUprising and The Box Shop Lifestyle KZfaq channels.
