Incredible car and video. I remember the Grand Sport Corvette, I was 18 the year Chevrolet introduced them to the racing world. There were only 5 built. The last time I saw a collector car value on them it was listed as "inestimable", first time I ever saw that. Thanks, it was really fun taking that ride, and nice driving!

@pgrant67 : not really, La Source taken horribly, off the gas half way the straight towards de Radaillon, downshifting on the radaillon in part 1? This car is very fast, but looks like a pig to drive. Most small engined historic racers have to take La Source perfectly, so they are launched on the straight. They have to take risks on the radaillon to get the best launch up to les combes. Here the driver seems to be off the gas most of the turn, just waiting for the straight to come. Not much fun.

u have to be very patient with these cars. god knows what the front to rear weight is in a plastic car with big hp, but the thing needs heaps of respect. so many guys cook the rears and go slow trying to push too hard. this guy is pretty good.

The only thing executed "horribly" is your ignorant commentary. He went wide twice at la source. once was when he went in too hot and had to keep braking in a straighter line so that he wouldn't understeer trying to make the apex..second at 4:30 he stayed wide because there was a car coming at him on his inside. ...Look at his head on entry and when he exits the corner, he's looking to his right over his shoulder for a car that is obviously close. Other than that, he hit the apex on max braking every time...u can even see him react to a small lockup on his front right at entry. there is no straight between eau rouge and radaillon, its a high speed chicane!..what r u talking about? he half lifted exiting radaillon but that was just throttle work.... its a real feather job thru there. at 5:32 he downshifted inside eau rouge...but look at the lap before that, he went thru without changing down. and then in part two there was a downchange at the end of the straight entering eau rouge every time from then on. In part one, it was a practice session. he was looking for the right gear to use at eau rouge and found that the higher gear was better so they stuck with that. Even if they had driven there before, they may have been trying out a new diff ratio and that would mean that the old gear change locations would have been different in some cases. you're a classic armchair racer with no idea of what you're saying but trying to big note urself..."look at me. i know about driving" wanker. BTW thanks for the racing tip that "Most small engined historic racers have to take La Source perfectly, so they are launched on the straight." ...the same rule applies to every fucking race car on the planet. Every corner that exits onto a straight needs to be taken perfectly to maximise straight line speed. And your last comment..."he seems to be off the gas most of the turn..." when was the last time you saw a car that could not take a corner at full throttle was on the gas. you're such a fucking idiot, go back to your online racing game. You obviously have a pissy little Alfa so you have no idea about driving real hp with no aero and historic-based suspensions.

@@EdWard-uh5me The car missed quali at leMans back in the day, It was tremendously fast in the straight line but impossible round corners

That's because Chevy needed a 327 to outrun a 289 Ford ;)
