In het verleden zijn we er wel 2 of 3 maal doorheen gereden. Maar nooit hebben we de moeite genomen of de gelegenheid gehad om te stoppen en er eens rond te kijken. Tot nu. En het was geen teleurstelling wat we te zien kregen. Wat een leuk dorp. Doorsneden door de Spaarne. Met al dat water, de sluisjes, de bruggen en de oude huizen en het beschermde stadsgezicht. Schitterend badend in een Hollandse zomerzon en een half bewolkte lucht. De wat straffe wind van die dag paste goed bij de sfeer van zo’n dorp. Wij waren er op 4 juli 2024.
We have driven through it 2 or 3 times in the past. But we never made the effort or had the opportunity to stop and take a look around. Until now. And what we saw was not a disappointment. What a nice village. Intersected by the Spaarne. With all that water, the locks, the bridges and the old houses and the protected cityscape. Beautifully bathed in a Dutch summer sun and a partly cloudy sky. The somewhat strong wind that day matched the atmosphere of such a village. We were there on July 4, 2024.
