This is a CGI recreation of the Eagle spacecraft from Space:1999 showing an assembly and a walkthrough of the interior. It is not 100% canon to the show but have tried to be respectful of both Brian Johnson and Keith Wilson's vision for the show. I took inspiration from the Dinky Eagle replica for the main hatch and gangway stairs.

This has got me smiling ear to ear. It brought back the wonder of my youth being mesmerized every time they showed an Eagle in action on the show. The design still holds up as far as being a plausible outcome of the space industry in the future.

Amen to that. I just wish more people were looking to horizontal VTOL designs like this...far more practical and plausible. Instead, we have billions being thrown at the same ridiculous tail standers (like the SpacedX stainless dildo) that don't stand a chance of being practical or viable. Gerry Anderson treated us to tech that could be. It's a shame no one is taking it more seriously.

The windows for the pilots are a bit small, especially for something that would be used in many roles and where it would crucial to see out, but perhaps the electronics made up for it. Great design otherwise.

It was in no way perfect, but it was belieavable and a concious effort to make something utalitarian that could actually work. I am still convinced we will se something like it on the moon one day.

I've often felt the Eagle Transport was the most easy to believe most realistic spacecraft in sci fi history and can see future spacecraft designed around this ship. I'm not certain we are that far from having the technology to recreate such a design now. .

Excellent re-work without losing the charm of the original! AVERTED NITPICK: I WAS going to complain about the lack - yet again - of port-starboard translation vector RCS thruster bells on the outboard pods, but then I took a closer look and realized that you had addressed that issue by virtue that the RCS thrusters are angled such that if all 8 (4+4) nozzles are fired at lower power, then it neatly serves as a side to side translation vector. Nicely done!

@@57thorns Regarding the "wandering moon": I've read (and agree with) commentary that there was difficulty in the 1960s developing science fiction shows centered around a STATIONARY locale (like Moonbase Alpha or the UFO studios) as opposed to a MOBILE locale (Lost in Space, Star Trek, Captain Scarlet, Wild Wild West, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea). Even Thunderbirds' Tracy Island was rarely the scene of any plot-related action aside from the launch sequences. I guess the Anderson & Co tonic to this difficulty was to have a stationary "moon-base"... but turn the moon into a giant spaceship~ IMO, it doesn't do much for plausibility.

The Eagle was always one of my favorite ships, but certain flaws in the design always stuck in my mind. You’ve done a nice job of addressing them, with things like moving the crew compartment forward, putting an airlock in the middle so they don’t have to decompress the entire cabin if it’s necessary to go for a spacewalk, and giving space for the vehicles and equipment. Nice work. If you’re considering creating blueprints or a cutaway picture or something like that, you should do it - you’ll definitely find plenty of interest.

Elevating the cockpit seats was the only way the astronauts would be able to see out of the viewports, and as I was modeling it, the seats could not be sunken. It would have made filming a little easier as it would have better aligned the heads of the seated astronauts with the occasional character who would walk in through the door.

I really like your redesign of the eagle, with updating, redesigning the Eagle but still keeping the basic look to it. What I REALLY enjoy, which has bothered me for YEARS about a design in Space 1999, is the docking arm of the landing pad and the interior Eagle doors, is that, the door is one piece and to open it takes up space and it would not work considering what little space there is in the structures, but with you making it a two piece door is great and a really big accomplishment to me ! I hope to see more videos like this of the Space 1999 universe !

The Eagle is my favourite space vehicle in any sci fi series. It has always looked the most logical kind of space craft in my opinion.
