As much as I love Scott Redmond, I just love how Alex Wyse portrayed Ricky. He’s just so awkward yet confident at the same time. So loud and proud, but he has little moments where he gets shy. Like that little “it gets weird now” but then he jump out from behind the curtains in his jumpsuit. At the beginning, he’s so quiet explaining his fantasy, and then he gets really loud and into it. This Ricky was just so out there, and this version of this song portrays that, too. It’s so upbeat and fun at the beginning and it stays like that. He expresses so much emotion. I just hate what they did to this song, they made him less chaotic and I love how together the choreography was. It was so neat and very in-theme yet super fun. I just LOVE the energy. Of course they made some important changes, but I feel like they got scared of Ricky embracing his awkwardness. They just got scared of Ricky tbh, like they were too scared to make him fun without being ableist(which is why it’s so important to have disabled people write/portray disabled characters) It sucks how they actually did have a disabled actor but mistreated them. I liked that version of Ricky, too. I feel like he was a lot more sassy, but I do miss the awkwardness. This Ricky is just the best. Same with Mischa lol, he was really fun in this version and gave more of a bad-boy intimidating vibe.
