I definitely understand, I end up playing creative alot to play how I like and really get things I tend to forget pinned down for realistic, it saved me tons on learning hydrogen, efficient engineering layouts and things like door limits, necessary thruster amounts and sensor setup. Currently I’m learning drone play, still can’t get my brain to pickup airlock setup 😂 I hope if you do play again you have a great time, your comment had me going “exactly”! Lol, take care!

@@allbriardup6451 Well, it's been a couple years since I played it, so it's possible there's been changes to the game that would make it more enjoyable. That having been said, I'm already playing a stable of games where I don't have to feel anxiety about whether my thruster configuration's going to allow me to get out of the hole I dug mining, or whether one battery was enough for the trip and maybe the weight of a second was worth it. I get what you're saying, and I do appreciate it, but I learned a long time ago that there are some games that become so tedious that they essentially become unpaid jobs, and I don't play game to work an unpaid job. There may come a day where I revisit Space Engineers, but it'd need a lot of UI and other QoL improvements to make me do anything more than a brief session.

@@LabTech41 Yeah I totally understand! The unpaid jobs point you made is spot on, if it’s not fun or worth it to you then no matter the game I wouldn’t encourage continuing unless you feel the desire to. The nice thing is they’ve done a lot of good changes to the game particularly in the last year, right now in “game” settings at the Home Screen you can turn on “Experimental Mode” which on Xbox S provides 200,000 CPU and Xbox X 500,000 CPU. With recent kidney stones and stent I needed a game with no anxiety at all for me that I could put the controller down possibly for a couple hours and come right back to it without punishment and the creative mode has been perfect for me, but I couldn’t see doing survival mode at this time either lol. My faction and I are planning to role play in the game a bit, I’m nearly finished with an 80k CPU carrier to act as a mobile space station and am working on a space-to-planet shuttle and other utility vehicles and will give myself goals, points to map out for self operating cargo ships and various tasks to carry out. I still can’t believe what Keen has accomplished on 25 year old technology that wasn’t even going you have multiplayer or planets lol. Keep an eye out for SE 2, It’s been in progress for nearly 14 years and I have a feeling it’s going to be game of the decade for me. I appreciate your insight and if you ever decide to give it a shot, you’re welcome to reach out and you’ll have someone to go through it with. Yeah the only problem is they would not create a hole big enough for the ship to fit through, unless the ore is really close to the surface 😊

Nah purely aesthetic, this ship was built way back in the early days when the game was a beta and there were no DLC blocks at all, so they all used to do things like use half ground down wheels so look like silo's and then the incomplete windows to look like girders. That's the plan eventually but this asteroid is only temporary as I want to find a really big one and the perfect shape. Of which, I really need to get around to doing!!

Yeah you can do that but they don't really make that much power, maybe enough to break even but not much more than that. The issue is that the sun is never in the optimal position when you're landed on the planet 😔 so you get like 2 of the four green bars on the solar panel 😔

The main thing is that Ions do not work well in full gravity, that's why the higher power usage, better to build a Hydrogen or even an atmospheric miner.
