The thing I love most about your builds are that they aren't about "Create this EXACT thing". Instead, you seem more interested in inspiring creativity in your audience, giving them basic tips on the building art, and enhancing their work with a creativity and exuberance that most build-shows lack. Thank you for that, sir.

I would make sure the face grates were actual holes, and also put some extra vents in the top of the helmet, just to make sure the helmet has some extra ventilation for the actor and isn't as hot as it normally would be. Also the reduced heat will make sure the hot glue lasts longer and won't get messed up by the mix of heat and moisture from the actor sweating. Also you should remove the brim from the back of the hat because it still looks like a hard hat from that angle.

I think it would of been cool if you dry brushed some good or copper for additional colour, as well as perhaps some red stripes or yellow "safety" labels. Great build

Oh crap! I actually had that helmet from the P-Funk video when I was a kid around 79 or 80! Mine was black and obviously a knock off of Darth Vader.

Just found your video's, and i love them all. I've been going to cons for a while, just as a spectator, but I've decided to try some cosplaying. I have a lot to learn, and teaching an old dog new tricks is hard. I'm 60 and on disability, so I hope and pray I didn't wait to late in life to start doing this. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I enjoy all your video's and their content. Keep up the great work!

I've been needing to watch this video for a long time now. See for the past, gee two years now, I've been working on a Green Ranger cosplay inspired by the 2017 movie. The costume needs some repairs now, being as which I went to a con while it was/still at 85% completion, but one thing I learned while making it is that there is always more than one way to skin a cat. I'm working on the base of the helmet now, and I may use the window tint technique for the visor.

See, doing things like Boba Fett armor - cosplay from a popular franchise - is, as you said, a great way to "toe-dip" into builds....but this -- THIS is DIY Prop-Making, and yes, this is totally usable in a major-studio production; Dr.Who has been recycling Cyberman heads for how long?. Excellent video as always, and -- you now have a bad-guy opponent for your DIY, Red Guard armor character from a year ago......And, fer the yunginz -- Earth, Wind & Fire, baby!

This is fantastic! I love how that helmet came out. Hey at the end of the video you did an audio effect to make it sound like your voice was filtered through a mask - could you do a video about how to do sci-fi voice effects? Maybe share some of your tips or things you’ve picked up. Like how to make it sound like a helmet (like a Stormtrooper or Darth Vader), how to make it sound like a hologram, and maybe how to make it sound alien or like a robot. There are a lot of audio effects you can apply in Premiere and even Audacity, it’s a bit daunting if you don’t know where to start.
