I had a Gen 2 Countercade but it was too small in every way. This Gen 1 is a much better size but screen size would need to be 11" or 12" minimum. Hopefully Arcade1up will listen to their fans & re-release this form-factor with a bigger screen.

Totally agree Frank 👍 A 11” or 12” inch screen on this would have been perfect! I really like how bulky and heavy the Gen 1 countercades are.

Frank, agreed 100. I have two Gen 1 countercades, this one and also Dig Dug. I had these for about 9 months now along with my 20 plus 3/4 scales and I enjoy the heck outta these just as much. They are really cool and fun to play; HOWEVER, the Gen 2 are a different story. I had the QVC exclusive Ms.Pacman, because I love missy p so much but I just could NOT bring myself to keep that cab. It is entirely too small for grown man mittens, that's for sure! I sold that thing after just a few weeks owning it. The 2nd Gen Partycades are the best alternative to the 3/4 scale imho. They are really, really nice and the most versatile as well as offer the most games for half the price of the 3/4 scale.

I’ve got mixed feeling on the countercades. They’ve got great artwork, but it’s a little small for my liking. Probably has to do with having 3/4th cabinets. Loved the $2 bill seen👍

Thanks Jeff! Really appreciate that! When I first pulled the countercade out of the package I couldn’t believe the size of it. Wasn’t expecting that at all. I def prefer the 3/4 size cabs way better but at that clearance price I had to pull the trigger 👾

Loved the vid, love me some Space Invaders! You made me a bit sad when you said you got rid of your 3/4 scale. Next time, before offing one of the all-time greats, consider what I did and just throw it in the closet 😁 I have both the 3/4 and the countercade. Got the countercade first, thinking it would keep me from wanting the 3/4 cab but I digress...

That Dig Dug countercade looks really good. if that one was available when I ordered this, I would’ve grabbed that as well. I’m really liking the A1UP countercades 👍

I want one of these for Christmas so I hope do I hope in the future they make sure they make a both handed model I can kind of use both hands But I'm more comfortable with my right hand

I think the cabcades are a good addition to the 3/4 scale for those who either don't have the room in their home or small quarters, etc. or need something to match their budget. I would definitely go for specific cabcades if I enjoy the games that much. Overall, I think there's a market for the cabcades if they can add more games much like the 3/4 scale arcade cabs and would definitely fit the top down style games such as Space Invaders, Ms. Pac-man, Frogger, Time Pilot, etc. If Ac1up makes another Taito cabinet I think they need to add more classic hits like Bubble Bobble, Arkanoid(one of my favorites), Elevator Action and throw in both Space Invaders plus anything else that Taito released in the arcades and it would be an awesome arcade cab to own if they make it a reality for all of us who remember them(which is pretty much anyone who was born in the 70s and 80s primarily).

Yeah I remember when Walmart had this deal for 69.99 they had this Space Invaders and also Dig Dug. And they sold out in like 2 hours. Gotta love those Walmart clearance specials.

Great review. I have 4 of the HSN/QVC Partycades. Love em! 17 inch screen. But yeah, 8 inch screen, just too small. 10 or 12 would be better. Cabinets are so sweet and high quality. But yes Arcade1up, don't make countercade cabinets smaller, just make screens bigger. This Space Invaders size is good, just needs more screen. Anyway, be well Jason. Cheers, Jim 🙂👍👍

@@3rdFloorArcade Asteroids partycade is cool. I have 2, one in my office and one in TV room. But the 200 buck holiday price is gone. Still worth it though. I think 240 now 😉

It looks pretty cool and for sure would work with somebody that doesn't have the floor space for an arcade machine. And I agree the main downfall is the smaller screen. I know if I got one I would mod it right away. lol Mainly why I modded my Space Invaders Arcade1up with a Dell PC. I got the cabinet at Walmart for $150 plus tax and free shipping. The big thing besides the horrible volume issue was it only had two games on it. And I have never been a big fan of Space Invaders to begin with. I could never get past the first screen in the hundreds of times I have played it in my life. lol But one thing I have to admit, is the artwork and graphics on the machine are beautiful and nostalgic. So getting back to the cabinets. Going to probably continue to work on the Frogger cabinet some tonight. Was your Space Invaders the 40th like mine is? Hope you are doing well man. Take care

That 3/4 scale Space Invaders cab really is a art masterpiece. Love the look of that cab. How cool would it be if they did a Taito Legacy cab?

Should have kept your original 3/4 cab. It was 40th anniversary lad. Nice price but the screen is just too bloody small... One more thing that was a 2 dollar note 😁

I hear ya dude. I sold the big Space Invaders cab to make room for the Frogger cab. I miss that 3/4 cab. I agree the screens on these wave 1 countercades were just oddly small on such a big machine....Haha @ the $2 bill 👍

Nice pickup Jason ! I love the artwork on this cabinet. I have the 3/4 cab and I just can’t bring myself to sell it because it’s just a great piece to look at. Which cabinet are you most excited for after the announcement ?

Thanks Jim, really appreciate that my friend! It was really tough selling that 3/4 scale cab for that same reason. Artwork is amazing on it. Of all the new cabs, I think I’m most looking forward to the Capcom Legacy followed by the X-Men cab. How about you? What cabs you targeting?
