Session Starducks は2020年、コロナの渦中で、世界中の皆さんに「生き残りたい！」（「ライオン」の歌詞）とがなってもらおうというひよこ隊長の思い付きで始まり、最終的に以下のような参加型のプロジェクト

About Session Starducks:
Session Starducks began as an idea by Captain Duckling(Yoko Kanno), who thought that everyone around the world would feel uplifted if they sang "I want to survive!" (a lyric from one of Captain Duckling's representative songs, "Lion") during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. As the project progressed, it was updated and eventually became a participatory project, such as the following:

Honestly... for all of us here that have experienced the bliss of the piece of work called Cowboy Bebop and its music (I know many here are music avids besides the series, or even musicians, who can appreciate the tremendous artistry of this band) the emotions these music pieces inspire on us maybe only we can understand. It’s music you take to the heart and stays with you timelessly. Thank you so much for reliving this... throwback to our cores. It makes all of our hearts flutter with nostalgia and joy. And a few... or a flow of tears.

Yoko. Thank you for making this possible during the days people where hunkering down due to the pandemic. I played Space Lion every day, I was one of the few essential workers who was not given the choice to stay at home; my body was broken, my soul crushed but I never gave up, I never let anyone down, I cried from physical pain many times but this song gave me the joy and courage to keep pushing forward until it was safe for everyone else to come out. Thank you so much.

I want to see this. But I don't at the same time. This song hits me hard, I was maybe a 16 year old boy beginning to understand things, and now I'm 37, alone in my house thinking about shit that happened and just thinking of this song breaks me a little. I think I'll listen to it, maybe cry a little bit with a glass of wine. Thank you Seatbelts & Yoko, even before listening to this.

The old man and boy are lakota. How I know is because I’m lakota and in the first episode he says Wakan tanka which means great spirit or Holy Spirit in lakota language :)

Listening to this, I'm back in 2000, a 10 year old kid who's just seen and heard something unlike anything that came before. Cowboy Bebop has stayed with me to this day, and this song brings me to tears every time. Thanks to the entire Bebop team and for the Seatbelts for this revisit.

It is 2:12 in the morning here in Atlanta and I'm standing here watching this and listening to it again as if I had never seen it I feel like I've been taken back in time to the first time I ever watched Cowboy Bebop., 64 years of age and I still have the same reaction I had then., if this does not open your mind and make your heart beat fast., you no longer have a soul... So say we all. One of the most beautiful things I've ever seen recently was a performance of this on KZfaq that was done for a wedding, if you haven't seen it you should.

This song to me is the highlight of the entire series. Over the years, when I’ve tried to explain to friends why this series is so special to me, the moment this starts playing during the credits is what comes to mind. I just love the blend of different genres and emotions. That blend of genres encapsulates the whole show to me. Just brilliant.

これからの生き方を悟ってすぐ何気なくKZfaqを開いたらこの動画。鳥肌もたって、人生が動きました。テロリストとの戦争に始まり、あらゆる分野での戦争が横行し全体化した時代。インターネットの下服従管理される時代。それでも、それと同じくらい当たり前に困っている奴がいたら手を差し伸べること、理屈なしで人権を認めること。その2つの現実を次の世代に伝えること。そして、いずれは自分も星になること人間の世の中などそんなもんであること、 1度きりの人生どんな風に棒に振るかな。

ああぁ…1年以上前にこんな活動されてたなんて全然知らなかったです…！当時の映像のイメージも強いのかもしれませんが、宇宙に抱かれてる様な音に包まれていると、最高な音で高揚している筈なのに心底安堵を覚えます…。 23年前からずっとずっと好きですし、いつ聴いても「こんな素敵な音楽に塗れて生きて来られて本当に幸せだ」と、最早、当時BEBOPをキャッチした自分すら褒め称えたくなります。 BEBOPが至高の作品になったのは、半分くらい皆様のおかげだと思っております…!!!(全て個人的感想です) BEBOPが無かったら、皆様がいらっしゃらなかったら、私はこの歳まで呼吸していた自信が全くありません。私の人生に皆様の音をくださった事、本当に感謝しております…!!!!! 皆様にどうか幸多からん事を…!!!!!

This song... The songs of your online session 2020... gave me goosebumps... made me cry. Seeing *The Seatbelts* reunited and performing during the pandemic 20+ years after the anime aired for the first time - also to raise proceeds for COVID-19 relief - is such a beatiful thing... it's beyond words. It makes the world a better place and fills my heart with both happiness and the old familiar sadness of my youth. I am so moved and thankful and all I want to say is: "Thank you!" - from the very bottom of my heart.

Thank you for making such a wonderful and I do mean a wonderful piece of music that made me cry when o heard it the first time in a wonderful tv show, and when I heard it again when I saw the last episode…. When I heard this during the pandemic I cried again because of the fact I was kind of thinking to myself a lot of folks are going to literally…… I feel are gonna carry that weight and I think a lot of us who are still fans of the fantastic tv series that we all watched when we were younger are probably crying a bit and I want you all to know whoever reads this…… you’re always gonna be a bounty Hunter. So many crazy things happened this year, and it has been so incredibly hard for all of us, but I seriously cannot thank you guys enough for this video. It helped me personally so much this whole year, dealing through quarantine and grief. This song has some kind of special power of making me feel like I'm not alone, I want to thank you guys for that. Keep rocking on.

This still brings tears to my eyes, 20 years after I first heard it, and this arrangement is so amazing. The poignancy is made even more profound by SpaceX succeeding in making history at the same time this is released. I cannot love this enough. It's such a mix of peace and tragedy, quiet introspection and grief, what was and what can be- and what is.

I owe a lot to this song, to that show, for the emotions it allowed me to have back then, having gone through so much, with the inspiration to keep going. As much as I felt I was alone in that experience seeing the comments shows I really wasn’t. And after several years hearing this again is giving me those same emotions which feels so empowering and grounding and it reminds me not to neglect myself to cherish my past as well as my present. Still love this song

This song hits in the feels so hard and yet I cannot help but smile at the sheer artistic beauty being displayed here. Seeing their smiles as they perform takes the edge of the melancholy that comes from fans of the show when we hear this tune. Artists are the heart and soul of our world and I'm thankful for every artist seen and heard here.

Of all the songs featured in Cowboy Bebop, this has to carry the most suffering, sorrow, and longing. I'm so happy to hear it played by the talented musicians that created it. You guys are legends!
