The ladies nailed it! I liked the couples layout but as a male bachelor who lives in NYC and has worked in many aspects of design from my perspective it's not question the ladies were robbed. It was well balance thoughtful and modern yet had a touch of retro,. It had a great timeless quality and looked a lot more luxe. They had all the keynotes of loft living.

The only thing I liked about the orange one was the vintage cameras. The blonde ladies are clearly the winner for me. The orange room is not pleasant.

I disagree with the judge. Ladies room is way nicer and more functional. I can picture a bachelor living there. The couple's room is segmented and feels aged. If I were to hire a group of designers, I would definitely choose the two ladies over the couple.

@@sean9267 a bachelor pad is about designs based around masculinity as a concept, but being masculine/having masculine aesthetics isn't something ingrained in men lmao... it's socialization and upbringing that breeds taste. A lot of women's tastes fall into what would be considered masculine, and clearly female interior designers have no issue replicating it as we've seen here. Maybe you should actually think about this for two seconds before going all "no girls allowed' on the most arbitrary shit ever? Jesus lmao

As a bachelor myself, I'd rather _look_ at Patti and Stephanie's room. It speaks to my personality a lot more. But I've learned from experience that tailoring my living space to my personality leaves me feeling like I can't experiment. I end up with everything just how I like it... always... every day... forever. I can't even let things get out of place. 🙃 I'm going with David and Catherine's design. It's not my style at all, but I still love it. And I feel like it would inspire me to loosen up a bit.

I think the judge would have picked the first design if it wasn't for the fact that the two hosts subconsciously influenced her decision. They were quiet enough during the first design, letting the judge point out everything she liked about the space, but when it came to the second design, the hosts were quick to point out everything they liked about it. They clearly influenced her decision on a subconscious level. This is also how marketing works.

Very impressed by both group's solution to THEIR definition of the "bachelor client". The first room was high in drama/mood. The ladies' design was rich in materials which helps since the colors were very subdued and patterns non existent. It works in an urban way without feeling cold. It was a brilliant idea to bring in the panels for the wall and to play with the height with the low profile seating and the high shelving units and hanging light fixture. My concern is the distance between the television and the lounging area as well as the dead open space in the center. In saying that, I think the second room's strength was in its layout. The desk serving as a sofa table of sorts kept it close to the gathering area so it is integrated better in the room. Keeping the seating area away from the edges of the room for the most part would be conducive to conversation/mingling. The couple also artfully carry the viewers eye throughout the room through the use of color. I did not like the fabric on their chairs/pillows in the TV area but it was done so well that it does not stand out to me. The carpets, although very different, do not compete with each other. The same is true regarding the chairs; all very different (save for the two in the living room) but they are balanced and held together by the color scheme. That is very difficult to do. Lastly, the couple paid close attention to lighting which can really set the mood in a room. If you notice, each seating area has access to a light source. This is the mark of truly living in a space. Both rooms have quality looking pieces. They were successful in making their spaces feel like living spaces and not a show room.

I loved both. You know the TV show where they got people into someone's home to guess their occupation. Well the man I imagined in the women's side is tall dark haired about 28 from the Western side of the US. Not exactly urban. I would have done the sofa with table back / desk. That is the focal for centering this room also. The man i saw in the couples side was from the North like Chicago to New York with brown hair tall a little older almost 40 years old. Thanks I think I will check out your show room some day. Nice choice pieces to choose from.

I absolutely love the two ladies space. It’s separates the living space from the office and I love how they use that one chair that’s sitting in front of the office desk but it also ties into the living room. And the monitor is placed in a perfect area for the office space and if people are sitting in the living room. The other room was extremely too busy for me. And the way the desk is sitting it doesn’t connect with the two chairs in the back to pull it in as a definite office space. I think the ladies should have won.If it was a bachelors pad, why did you not have a male judge?

Am not an interior designer but Ladies room is more High end elegant but as an expercienced bachelor i would buy the 2nd room because its more friendly, cosy and entertaining and it as a single person you need to color your room environment to avoid depressions. That's the reason why they won❤, interior is not just to beautify you have to sell what your buyer wants.

I much preferred the room that was selected. The room designed by the two ladies was every cliche of a bachelor space ever created. It was if they were designing a toy soldier room with only metal, leathers, and masculine colors. I'd be afraid to sit down in this room because it displayed 'zero' softness. Far too angular, and just plain cold. The 'faux' wall was a great concept, but not needed in this space considering it didn't add any warmth to the space. There's no question the room with the warmth with some brighter color was still very masculine for the 21st century bachelor.

I feel like the judge picked the room based on what SHE would want as supposed to what would actually works for a bachelor. The couple's room was more like a family room with a small bar to entertain their family friends every now and again, whereas the ladies one was a lot more practical for a bachelor (a small work area overlooking the TV), the colours were a lot manlier and the design gave a lot more of a modern and fancy vibe which would defintely be more preffered by a bachelor. I don't think this was a fair judgement, and all the comments bellow seem to think the same.

The coin toss was dumb.. It really set the girls back because it would have forced them to use some colour. They should have forced both teams to find new pieces. I'm a bachelor and I preferred the couples' room. The colour made it more human. The girls' one was monochromatic and came off as being this idea of what masculine *should* look like, rather than what a real person would actually choose. Also, why on earth wasn't the judge an actual bachelor or at least a panel of judges!? Lame.
