No, that needs to be thoroughly investigated, and if it is on the dark bottom of the ship, the better and the more effort that needs to be put on the matter. If shapes like big eggs are found they should be collected and broght to the upper levels to research them, keeping them very close to where the remaining crew sleeps. If a very ill crew member is found on the bottom levels and warns about not opening a gate, please do so as quick as possible. If you have been warned that there is a menacing alien on the other side of the door, ignore it, and try it to reason, behave, and obey the rules of the ship.
