While they may not be scripted they do have alot more control of the outcomenof the match with all these new "technology" cant really scripted a match but you sure can script in a so called "foul" "handball" these "offsides" with these so called "lines"that ultimately we really don't know if they are true or not.. some look to be clearly offside while other look clearly onside yet the call is opposite its crazy and football just isn't the same at all or yet played with the same emotions/passion as the players of the past

To be fair, in days gone past we would have been fearing a thumping at the hands of teams as good as Spain. To only lose 0-2 away from home, isnt that bad, particularly given the excellent results thus far. We cant ignore the fact Scotland had a perfectly good goal ruled out as well, goals change games, who knows what could have been.

Blocking the goalie inside the small box has always been a foul, even if many refs tend to ignore it nowadays. Doesn't matter if he's offside or not. Good for Scotland there's no chance to appeal, otherwise you would look not just like sore losers, but like sore losers who don't know the rules of the game.

Football has degenerated into a constant appeal for fouls and VAR dependency that is outright pathetic. Miss the good old days before VAR. Modern footballers might get arm and shoulder injuries due to all that flailing and appealing for fouls all the time. Actually the kind of foul which disallowed Scotland's goal was more commonly called in days past. The small box belongs to the goalie and any contact with him would be called a foul right away. Nowadays some refs turn a blind eye, which is plain wrong.

That decision to stop the Scottish goal was a disgrace. What chance does a team like Scotland have when referee's go against u with weak decisions like that. That was not a foul on the keeper. If u look at the Spanish defenders having their arms locked around the Scottish player in the 18 yrd box then why didn't Scotland get a Penalty?? That was bad play from HICKEY too btw.
