I heard one of the composers said there will be a revamp to make it more likable for a wider audience with no loss of authenticity. I guess it will be for the grand final like last year and I think it's a strategy in the Spanish delegation in order to surprise in the final like Chanel did magically

That zenith angle where you can see the white circle symbolizing the moon that is transformed into an eye, the eye that watches the child from the moon. This moment is perfectly accompanied by the lyrics of the song, it is what he is singing. It is magical, elegant, artistic, modern and impressive.

The song itself, the music, is a bulería, kind of a specific 'subgenere' of flamenco with a modern twist of an electronic beat. The topic and the lyrics come from the POV of a woman singing a lullaby, trying to put her crying baby to sleep ('Eaea' is a cooing sound in Spain) The performance and staging are the ones of a ritual, summoning her ancestors. Specially her late grandma, wich this song is inspired by and dedicated to, because she taught and used to sing flamenco and lullabies to her. The repetitive pattern of the beat, backing vocals and rythmic clapping are intended to be entrancing and hypnotizing for connecting with the energy of the experience. Her hand movements work as a praise and a calling to the above. The red threads are a reference to the fringes of a traditional 'mantón' (shawl) simbolizing protection, motherhood, in fact she said it could be seen sort of womb-shaped. Actually she worked as a costume and stage set designer, as she did here too. The white circle represents the moon, where, as the lyrics say, she wants to be buried in when she dies so she will be able to watch over her child everynight but one ('newmoon') First she kneels looking up, later she kneels again looking downwards, always with a reaching hand. Then she shoots a flaming arrow and lights it on fire (red pulsing light, heartbeat, blood, death) Finally the priestess gets on the shrine to end the ritual in ecstasy.

From South Africa and I'm obsessed! Perhaps because I'm a dancer and I love flamenco? That beat is so hypnotic and her vocal is perfect. I also always prefer the entries that are culturally specific rather than generic and you can't get more Spanish than flamenco! A winner for me.

3 minutes of goosebumps. Unique, different, hypnotic. Not for spotify this is an statement made by Spain with its huge cultural and ethnic background. Flamenco is art in some countries like mine we go to opera houses o theaters specially to appreciate this kind of music. I am so happy and proud that Spain is sending this masterpiece and not a silly cheesy song. Very poetic lyrics like "My child. When I die may they bury me in the Moon so that I'll see you every night. Every night but one " The singer is absolutely fabulous and incredible

I always try to assess songs by the metric of ‘can I see this being played over the end credits of Eurovision as the winner at the end of the contest’ and I definitely get that moment from Eaea (just imagine the confetti, the rolling names, and that final hard cut to black as she closes her fist). Too early to tell with 30 other songs left in the contest, but of all the songs chosen so far and that I’ve seen in national finals, this is the one that most easily passes my ‘could it roll over the end credits’ test. Congratulations, Spain, and congrats to Blanca!

I think I see your point, the difference however is that French chansons are a worldwide liked genre while Flamenco is mostly loved and appreciated in Spain. High art, let’s see if it is maybe too much art for the uninitiated general ESC audience.

watching the whole performance, I got goosebumps and pleasantly surprised. I have the same feeling watching this as the feeling when I watched "Love Injected", 1944, "Zero Gravity" and Voilà (entries that are considered too artsy and need more time to understand, but did very well at the contest in their years).

EAEA is a flamenco lullaby. Éa éa is an onomatopoeia that Spanish mothers do to calm their children while they are crying. The song tells the story of a mother who wants to be buried in the moon when she dies to see her child every night except one (the new moon day). The red strings of the staging are very typical in the Spanish flamenco costumes. Also the song has references to the poems of Federico Garcia Lorca, one of the most important poets of Spain. This is the most Spanish entry we ever had and we are so proud of her

The theme and lyrics come from the point of view of a woman singing a lullaby, trying to put her crying baby to sleep ('Eaea' is a lullaby sound in Spain). The acting and staging are very "lorquianas" (full of winks at the famous poet Federico García Lorca) and represent a ritual, an evocation of their ancestors. Especially to his late grandmother, to whom this song is inspired and dedicated, as she taught him and sang flamenco and lullabies to him. The repetitive pattern of the rhythm, the choruses and the rhythmic claps are meant to be mesmerizing and mesmerizing to connect with the energy of the experience. Purpose touch Hearts even although you dont understand líric which by the way has a deeply traditional and authentic meaning of a mother lullaby song turned out into Flamenco combined to Electronic. , #EAEA EAEA YA EAEA... is an onomatopoeia, it is when a mother whispers to her baby to calm him down and to sleep. I like the whole song by Blanca Paloma like you its, but what else... is when Blanca Paloma kneels and sings that about; when I die, they bury me in the moon, so I can see my child every night, except one, which is the night of the new moon or full moon, for me that is talking about the love that processes your child more beyond his death, there he left it... I loved seeing your reaction, I send you a greeting.
