The Legend..❤ Diabetic (type 1) at 14..an insulin dependent since then. Almost died a few times. Undergone an open heart surgery in 2018 after a month of recovery, was diagnosed of kidney cancer (early stage) that lead to another operation. By God's grace he is still the Gary V. we are watching now. ❤❤❤

Thanks for this, Jeffrey! That's 'Mr. Pure Energy' for ya. His influences/idols are Al Jarreau and Michael Jackson. George Benson, too, if I recall correctly. He's so talented (he's a great dancer too) and it's no surprise that Daryl looks up to him as his ultimate Philippine music idol. In fact, Daryl used one of Gary's songs as his audition piece for The Voice Philippines about 6 years ago. Daryl and Katrina (whom Gary mentored before) paid homage to Gary and Regine Velasquez (another OG powerhouse) by covering their Tagalog song *'MULI'* (with additional riffs and runs haha). Muli means 'again' - it's a song about two ex-lovers regretting ever parting ways and wanting to reignite that love once again. On Daryl Ong Official. You might want to react to that. :)
