Spain were massive favourites in 2012 and never looked like they wouldn't win that year! Okay, they went to penalties against Portugal, but they outplayed them and stifled CR7. Their performance against Italy for me is the greatest performance I've ever seen in any final. For pure quality, the current Spain team aren't on the same level as Spain 2008,2010 or 2012, but they are damn entertaining and have fantastic harmony. Plus, what I love is they were badly underestimated because of a supposed lack of lethality up top and yet they never fell short in terms of goals! Also, they showed insane resilience against the likes of Germany, France and England who were all APPARENTLY BETTER TEAMS 🤭 I tell you now, Germany's squad was full of holes and their performances vs Switzerland and Spain were horribly lacking. They needed a plan B in Fullkrug's physicality to even give them a chance! England meanwhile... they were 60 seconds away from losing to SLOVAKIA. They were never the standard bearers and the favourites tag weighed too heavily

Exactly Spain won not because of individual talents but because they connect as a team ,if you watched Spain from the start you knew already Spain was going to win it because how well connected they are as a team ,that’s the most important things in a team.

Yeah Yamine Yamal created so many assists. He's got more assists than goals. Some people only care about balondrs and the golden boot neglecting the contribution of all the other players like defenders who made it possible for the team to get a trophy.

The individualism in sports is promoted by those that are making money and want to make more money from the sports, individualism helps sell the sports and its great for business, just see how for example the nba focused on Michael Jordan in the 90's and promoted him when the truth is that his success was built around the strong team he had. Its just the way it is, its all about money for the care takers of the various sports. For sports like tennis its already an individual game so there wont be a clash with the need to focus on the team instead of the individual like with football or basketball for example. All the great individuals that have played in team sports wont have won anything without being along side other great players.

@@goku445 Good question. As a teenager I grew up in the UK. But also living in Australia now, I have some very good English friends. Sport rivalries are healthy. There are always those idiots that we can just ignore. My daughter in law is Argentinian so my grand daughter is half Argentinian. So a few hours after the England-Spain match we were treated to the Argentinian win. That was the highlight of the day.

In their country they stab defenceless cattle with long spears in front of an audience and think it's normal. We say it's strange. They turn football into a wrestling match (Musialla was grabbed and pulled down) and handball and talk about superior playing style. On Sundays they are Catholics, i.e. members of a dubious association. They want to take away our right to fair sport and freedom of expression by denouncing whistles against handball players. Playing handball is not allowed in football. Both the referee and the VAR were notorious and had previous convictions. It was a clear penalty! Spain is not a worthy European champion, but a pathetic one. They rose to the throne through corruption by means of previously convicted, unstable referees. The cheated German hosts are supposed to cheer when brainless players like Murata celebrate the title they bought by insulting German players. We are being pigeonholed as sore losers? Is that even possible? We'll never forget that!
