Spain played boring football and they played without passion, they spent more time crowding the ref and rolling on the floor than they spent playing the game, and they got humbled by a team that actually wanted to win.

Scotland and Spain both had 3 shots on target each.. Scotland had 9 shots, Spain had 8 shots. Spain committed more fouls than Scotland. (15-13) Spain had 75% possession, Scotland had 25% possession... Scotland played in a way that counters Spain's "Do hee haw with all the possession" style of football. I'm not sure what Rodri wanted Scotland to do that game... Spain play in a way that is very efficient for winning in football, but they don't have the forwards to do it at the moment. Teams cannot be expected to lie down to them just because they're a big name nation. Absolute nonsense.

IRONY beyond belief I can’t believe it they got beat in their own game in the end by constantly fouling and going through the back of our players like John mcginn then diving for penalty’s and playing injuries for 3 minutes to try and get a red for Robertson. Embarrassing.

That Spanish team were an absolute joke in the first half- rolling around and feigning injury at any challenge. It’s only when they went two goals down that they started to, magically, recover much quicker from challenges. Towards the end of the game Scotland played them at their own game. You reap what you sow, mate :)

Being half Scottish and half Spanish I have to laugh at his comments on the Scots wasting time, play acting, dirtyness etc. The Spaniards, Portuguese and S Americans were thugs back in the day and today they cannot get away with that behaviour, but they still play nasty, waste time when things aren't going there way. Have huge respect for Rodri as a professional and he’s right to a certain extent.But both teams were as bad as each other. He obviously doesn’t watch Scotland, surprise surprise, cause this is not how we play. We are physical like no other. And tonight we are met with an equally physical side that were battling for everything and yet we’re going down so easy, so we reciprocated. He’s not used to losing too much. He’s bitter. If I’d lost a game like that I’d be bitter too. Spain were out of ideas and didn’t play well at all but equally I feel our defensive work was important. They didn’t threaten Scotland because we made the game slow and attacked fast. After the second, there was no way back. Much more aspects were the cause of Spain’s downfall than the way Scotland teased them.
