Spain to join South Africa’s genocide case against Israel

Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares says his country will join South Africa’s genocide case before the International Court of Justice against Israel’s actions in Gaza.
Spain is the first European nation to join the case, which Chile and Mexico have also joined.
In mid-May, judges at the top United Nations court ordered Israel to halt its offensive in the southern Gaza city of Rafah and withdraw from the enclave, citing “immense risk” to the Palestinian population.
Israel has since pressed on with its assault on Rafah and the rest of the Gaza Strip.
Al Jazeera’s Sonia Gallego reports from London.
Luciano Zaccara is an Associate Professor of Gulf Politics at Qatar University.
He joins us in the studio to discuss this latest move by Spain.

Spain complicit in its support of neonazi regime in Kiev. The president is a corrupt man who violated Spain’s historical defence of the free people of the Sahara (NW Africa) by giving in to the demands of US ally, the pro Israeli King Of Morocco in Morocco’s claim on the lands of those people. He is a traitor to both Spanish people and our longstanding good relations with Arab nations established and developed by previous governments including Franco and Adolfo Suarez. Morocco has not said a word in defence of Palestine because it is an Israeli ally, and an American treaty of friendship dates back to 1786. Spain’s government is pro NATO and US, so I don’t know the game this Sanchez is playing, he is a common liar, and that is what politicians do best in Spain.

What about lraq, Vietnam, Libya, Cuba, Afghanistan, lran and so many others? What about my country of South Africa? The west supported the kiIIings of Black, Indian, Coloured and progressive White activists in SA for decades. They supported the partition of race groups, and the traffcking of ensIaved lndians to South Africa prior to that. They supported the shiooting of BIack children who didn't want to learn Afrikaans. They supported the forrced removal of Coloured and other non-Whlte people from District 6 - just because they wanted to make it a "Whlte Only" area. They supported torrture of a sexxual, physical, psychological, and even cannabiIstic nature - all of which has been carried out on activists during the aprthied era. Only when the US felt pressrre from protestrs and students did they decide to sancttion the aparthied government. The truth is that the US has never changed its nature. I understand that this means little to you, as you are likely just another western puppt. But nonetheless, it is the truth.

Your country said it stands by and supports the decision of the International Criminal Court, when the Prosecutor Karim Khan applied for orders of arrest for the Israeli prime minister and minister of defence. This is also important, as it set an important example, especially taking into account that the US, UK and Germany were critical of that decision of Karim Khan.
