It's weird that nobody is mentioning that spain destroyed Italy in the whole game until Italy won on penalties.

Italy was threatening for much of this game but when Thiago Motta was the final substitution and then got injured, it was game over. Italy was forced to play with 10 men for 30 minutes already trailing 2-0. This game was closer than the score suggests, especially when it 11 vs 11. Spain were definitely the favorites though, but Italy were very unlucky in this game.

@@crocutabruta9723 Yes they did. I think Italy deciding to play Chiellini, who was nursing an injury at time, was a mistake. His mobility was hindered and that played into the first goal. That's why they took him out early in the game. The worst part, however, was that Motta injury that made them play with 10 men for 30 minutes. It's a tall task coming back from two goals down with 10 men against any team, let alone Spain.
