Phil was in a band called genisis as there drummer. But when he reached out and started singing in a solo carrier is when he came into his own . The more you look into phil the more amazing songs he has sung . A brilliant singer and musician. Think lion king as an example of movies with phil collins singing.

Phil is one of the very best rock drummers of all time. He considers himself “a drummer who sings a bit” - which is an understatement of course, but he said that because he never stopped playing drums, whether it was in Genesis (best band ever), or solo, until his deteriorating health stopped him.

Actually, they do have a similar nasal singing technique they both use to cut through if the want to emphasize a particular vocal line. A lot of singers do in fairness but if her experience in music is limited then picking up on that technique even if it is accidentally unkind to Phil shows a good ear which she can use to learn.

Drums ? lol he s one of the best drummer since the 70s ! i saw Genesis in 1974 in Montreal ! he was the drummer in Genesis ! then when Peter Gabriel left the band Phil started beeing the lead singer in Genesis ! Gracias !
