I love catching King Mackeral and that was for sure a thick slab. Nice one.mate and that launch had me on the edge. You got some massive balls to keep that yak down in that surf.

Yea our Spanish mackerel here are a different species to your Spanish. They look similar to the king mackerel but I looked into it and they are also a different species.

In USA this is called Wahoo, and Spanich mackerel or Sierra has golden spots on it..

We have Wahoo here too, same fish as yours. This is a Narrow Barred Mackerel, what we call a Spanish Mackerel here in Australia 👍

Nice catch! nothing worse than fishing in the wind, ugh! Just saps your energy. My girlfriend whos Vietnamese was telling me lastnight that anything in the sea is called a fish in Vietnamese so a Dolphin is called a "pig fish" and whales are called "elephant fish" lol they don't have Vietnamese words specific to them. Will have to ask her if spannish mackerel has a funny name but shes snoring away next to me right now >_>

Glad there was no surf, I'd hate to see it when surf's up! Mate, do you have a tip on the sizing of the Ts? When you had your own mech page you said they were slightly on the smaller size. Still the case under the new system?

Hey mate, unfortunately I don't have any info on the t-shirts... Teespring allow you to set up a shop with them and upload designs but apart from that you don't get any control over it. I'm planning to get a kayak or motorized skiff like you have, do I really need to use something expensive like a Slammer or Saragosa to tackle big fish or can I just stick with a decent reel like a BG or a Battle 2? I'm from the Philippines so we have similar fish that you'd get around the seas in the Northern Territory/Queensland, save maybe for billfish. So, have you ever hooked a GT from the kayak/skiff and if so, which of your gear managed to win against it? Also, can a smaller car like your Impreza, fitted with the appropriate roof racks, carry the skiff or do I need to get a pickup truck/SUV?

Hey brother got a quick question here from Florida! How do you handle getting the kayak back to the car with a huge load of fish? I suppose you're keeping it light. Another 30-40lbs on the boat could make for a hefty tote.
