"The Historical Park" is a Spanish listening exercise. The video script was written using a list of the 5,000 most common words in Spanish. The only words outside the list are "Histórico", "Guayaquil", "pájaros" and "monos". Every other word in the video is a word worth learning.

For best results, follow these steps:
** STEP 1 **
Watch without any captions. Click on the [cc] button to turn off captions. Try your best to hear every single word. You might need to listen to the same sentence many times. It's a LOT better if you write everything down, as this will help you to focus on the details.
** STEP 2 **
Rewatch with Spanish-only captions. Click on the gear icon → Captions → Spanish. Focus on the words you misheard in step 1. Listen to each sentence many times until you're able to HEAR every single word.
** STEP 3 **
Rewatch with bilingual Spanish/English subtitles. Click on the gear icon → Captions → English. Check if you understood the Spanish correctly.
** STEP 4 **
Rewatch without any captions several times until you're able to understand everything at full speed without translating in your head.
** USEFUL TIPS **
If you're using a computer, the GlotDojo Chrome extension makes this exercise a lot easier. Full instructions here:
