There are some "secret" verbs in Spanish that you hear native speakers using every day yet are rarely taught in Spanish courses! In this series I'm going to pop the lid on them :-)
DOWNLOAD THE COURSE BOOK: spanishwithpaul.com/
MINI COURSE SERIES: • Spanish With Paul Mini...
MONDAY LESSON SERIES: • Monday's Spanish Lesso...
Hi everyone, Paul here :)
Most of us already know all the usual verbs most traditional Spanish courses teach you. There are however a number of what I call "secret verbs" that I hear native speakers using around me every day yet I never came across in any Spanish course I ever studied!
Strange.
In this series I've decided to "pop the lid" on these verbs for you, I'll reveal who they are and how to use them.
As always, the result you'll get from watching these lessons will be powerful new stuff you can instantly plug into your Spanish and use right away. Continuously making your Spanish more natural sounding and effortless to use.
Enjoy and let me know what you think!
Paul
P.S - My FULL 50 HOUR COURSE is now available! Go all the way into full conversational fluency in Spanish as well as getting 1-1 access to me to coach you every step of the way :-)

I don’t understand how some people click a dislike when Paul is delivering an amazing lesson to help us learn. Sacrificing his time and effort. Guys you should be ashamed of yourselves... 👎and thank you Paul 👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hi Paul thank you so much for your lessons, I really enjoy learning Spanish with you! One question please! Why sometimes for her you (say la) and other time you (say le) for example (no logré verla) I didn’t manage to see her. The other was voy a llamarle not llamarla. If you don’t mind can you please explain the difference. Many thanks, I really appreciate it. Regards, Sunny 😘

Although everything in this video is correct, it is very important to know the other uses of the verb "lograr", for example : Logré mis metas escolares este año. - I reached my school goals this year. Tengo que lograr buenas calificaciones en mis clases. - I have to get good grades in my classes. Con esfuerzo, lograré buenos resultados. - With effort, I will attain good results.
@janheard3826

At the beginning of the lesson Paul explained that lograr meant to reach or achieve a goal, so no need to point out a shortcoming in his teaching that doesn’t exist.

Thanks for such a very useful lessons! Seems, that for a better mnemonics "logré" may also be considered to have the sense of "I succeeded to ...".
@goldeneddie
@goldeneddie 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Eltardo. In English no one would say 'I succeeded to'. We might say 'I was successful at [doing something]' but even that is not really natural. Most natural is 'I managed to [plus infinitive of verb]'.

Can you comment on how you'd say You'd manage not to do something? For example, "I managed not to talk today" I feel like if you said, "No logré hablar hoy," it would translate to "I didn't manage to talk today" which isn't quite the same thing.
@carlosd.a.9257
@carlosd.a.9257 6 жыл бұрын
1. No logré hablar hoy. I didn't manage to talk today. The goal was "to talk". But he didn't got it. He didn't achieve the goal. 2. Logré no hablar hoy. I managed not to talk today. The goal was "not to talk" (to talk nothing). And yes, he got it. He achieved the goal. In Spanish, to put a verb into negation is always No + verb.

Hola, Paul.... can you please let me know what is the difference between Mexico Spanish and Spain Spanish?
@legaleagle46
@legaleagle46 6 жыл бұрын
It's a bit of a broad topic that would really be outside the scope of these mini-lessons, but the main differences are some slight differences in pronunciation and a few differences in vocabulary, much like the differences between US English and UK English. Probably the biggest difference, however, is one that most beginning students of Spanish don't really need to worry about at this stage: Spain still uses the informal second-person plural pronoun "vosotros," whereas Mexican Spanish does not.

@lucylawson4260

I'm struggling to learn one language, let alone two! Yes, "I managed to" means "I was able to" in English, but often in the context of it not looking like it was going to happen. Perhaps I was really busy, or had lots of other things to do, but I still managed to do it; I squeezed it in. You're almost boasting about it, in a really discrete way. I hope that makes sense.
