I completely agree! I couldn't tell whether it was Spargo mixing him well enough that it made some of Leo's decisions look bad, or simply bad decisions. I do think if Leo can build up consistency with Aegis (maybe Tweek as a new teammate/practice partner can help) than it'll be his best character. As it stands though.. Idk, maybe he just needs time with the character. Like consistent time, cause he's balancing the Joker, the Byleth, and trying to add Meta Knight with the Aegis could be too much. I'm not an expert by any means, and certainly not good enough to critique the level of play here. But some of the spot dodges that seemed to carry over from Myrtha to Pyra seemed bad. And compared to winners finals, it didn't seem like Spargo's options were being baited or anticipated. Like I was feeling frustrated with how many cross-slashes and Up-B's were hitting. But I guess Spargo adapted quicker than Leo could, so props to Spargo!

It's his pyra. He switches to pyra too early, trying to get the kill. And always takes more damage than it's worth. He should do more damage with Mythra until it's garuenteed a single strong hit with pyra will kill so he's not taking an unnecessary beat down

Why would he they’re broken

The thing is, Leo's Aegis is more "recent ish" while Sparg0 has been playing Cloud pretty much his entire career. There is a difference between someone playing as one character all of their lives vs. someone who has been trying to mix up their characters a lot. But yeah I stand by Leo's Aegis is awesome, but not as awesome as Joker and Byleth.

@@zeospark9715 The thing is though, Sparg0 has played Aegis for a long time and whenever he tried to win a Tournament with the character, he would fall short of doing so. Leo is currently suffering the same thing.

Roy has the speed of Mythra and the power of Pyra and he has an easier time recovering so I always considered him better than the two

It's just...for a character that's supposed to be the 2nd best in the game, I expected results of the character to be far more pronounced, yet that hasn't been the case. This is unlike characters like Steve being the number 1 character in the game being supported by the results that showed how far beyond he was compared to the other characters in the game.

Aegis have never been the second best character in the game, hence why even Sparg0 or Shuton have never won a major with them, their weaknesses are just way more exploitable than other S tier characters and they lose matchups to very common top tiers

It has moreso to do with disliking the character itself. Everyone here is respecting Leo, but most people don't see Aegis as a likeable character. Usually whoever likes Aegis is an Aegis main or secondary. I rarely see a non-Aegis player likes Aegis on screen.
