Hey guys, what kind of vids would you like to see from me? I would like to do more kinds of games outside of the AG genre (since not many games are made in it these days) but I'm curious to know what kind of stuff you guys would like to see overall. Not planning on stopping with Redout 2 stuff tho, so don't worry!

How about Insane 2? It’s basically a Motorstorm game with more weather effects.
@kiraarashi32312 жыл бұрын
BallisticNG, perhaps? It's an homage to the classic WipE'out" trilogy with plenty of content to keep sessions fresh and exciting, such as a couple gamemodes from the most recent Wipeout titles: Survival and Upsurge, corresponding to Zone and Zone Battle respectively. I also agree with Gradient Rotoscope in that Distance should be added to the racing game bucket list, as, in my eyes, it sticks you in a Tron: Legacy-esque world with a Rocket League-esque car.

Take some inspiration from start wars pod racer (I know, the game from 1999 I think). The gameplay / map design are surprisingly super tight and this game seems pretty similar gameplay wise. Might be something to consider

The "Hovercars" are basically supersonic spaceships with a set of magnets bolted to the underside. No, I'm not kidding! The lore for the Vanguard in Redout 1 reveals that the first AG racer was a modified ESA Space Fighter! Ya gotta deliver when making the tracks to race on.

The way your HP *MELTS* when you boost on this thing... I don't know what stats the different vehicles have in this game, but I can only assume this thing has like ZERO boost tolerance. The FORCE of the boost seems pretty high though since you break 2K in like no time at all when you DO boost on this. Also , this track is incredible

The Origin locale's Temperature rating (the second circle depicting a thermometer during the pre-race flyover), far as I could make out without having played the game myself (waiting for tweaks to the difficulty curve for some events, as a few Steam reviews have helpfully pointed out) is Hot, which, if I'm right, increases both A) the rate at which a ship builds heat through regular, hyper-, or double boost, and B) health drain via overheat from continued boost application at max heat. You could be right in that this particular ship doesn't have a high enough stat that counteracts this heat buildup, but I've seen a video of another ship going 3,000+ km/h on Origin Boss, so what do I know?
@Joltout2 жыл бұрын
Mantis is a thrust focused team with low hull. I basically just built to the stereotype and it eats hull pretty quickly as a result. Thrust isn't a meta stat right now, but the devs are working to fix it for a patch beyond 1.1.
@foxboy642 жыл бұрын
@@kiraarashi3231 in general thrust means the boost you get is significant but the heat builds up FAST. a ship with low durability cant take boosting like that for long, and the mantis is very much a glass cannon in terms of its thrust/durability ratio. so basically you get UNYEILDING POWER for about a second then you're back on the recharge. mantis and asera struggle a lot, i've found. both have almighty boost, but they don't retain that speed after they are done boosting and don't have the hull strength to boost often. so a conqueror (which is the opposite, high top speed very little thrust) honestly out performs them even in the boost sections, since it can just. . . boost longer, and reach a higher speed as a result. the other two will pull away at the start of the straight then get blown by at the middle of it.

It's funny how they describe the Mantis as made from a company that makes foghter jets. So you would think this thing has high boost capacity, but no, the health just blows away like dust in the wind. Hope the changes in Patch 1.1 (whenever that comes out) are justifiable so I can get back into the game. Mantis is my favorite looking ship so far and I have like nothing unlocked for it because of the difficulty on the career

Hello. Just out of curiosity, do you use assists for your runs? I am a relatively new Redout 2 (Redout in general) player and just found them out yesterday. I have pitch assist really high because of the up and down slopes so that I may better practice strafing. I was able to memorize Mount Fuji and ran the boss track yesterday. It felt pretty good though I can definitely feel the computer taking quite a bit of control. I may just have to do some tweaking but that is okay. I’m really enjoying it so far and can’t wait to continue practicing. Also, great racing btw! :)

All the tracks start at the same point, but yes, all the tracks are combined into one. So you race across the "start" several times before the lap is complete.

Well, it's good you're having fun. I gave up at the first real race after the boost tutorial (which is one of the WORST tutorials I've ever been forced through) because the rubberbanding was so god awful, there was no way I'd reach 1st place without additional parts, and all that is locked behind the rest of the game. I'd be 5-800 meters ahead and the ai would just teleport past me. Complete BS. Real shame, I liked Redout 1.
@Joltout2 жыл бұрын
The rubber banding is entirely difficulty based. You can lower it and fiddle with the assists to make life easier for yourself. But the first tutorials are designed to be hard iirc, so that it can calibrate the assist and difficulty for you.
