I loved the speech of Crixus before his final battle when he asks "What Lies Beneath Your Feet?" and Agron answered him, once hatred bonding between them, then unified a clenched to one fist of brotherhood and respect!

They should've tossed Naevia into the flames when they had the chance. She's the reason why Crixus met his grisly fate. She's also the reason why Spartacus & his army ultimately got massacred because Naevia's actions are what ultimately led to Spartacus & Crixus' falling out.

This is the best scene of television history. The sounds, reactions, acting, music, increasing and decreasing beats in just the pinpoint perfect times, everything is so fucking perfect. Genius Director and Producer, genius actors who have completely created personalities in the characters. Cudos!

dave midd Liam McIntyres best speech as Spartacus. Andy Whitfield and John Hannnahs final scene was Andys best Spartacus speech. Batiatus was the best bad guy in the series.

What he does here is not only a proper send off for his buddy but a huge boost to morale - they aren’t just mourning Crixus, but by letting everyone in the crowd vent their grief for their own lost relatives and friends, it allows them to harden their resolve. He basically turns a somber funeral into a hype rally.

Cara-Marie Askew his death bothered me on the same level of Gannicus. Both killed by cowards who barely did anything in their last fights. At least Crixus died fairly quickly with a beheading but frigging Gannicus was crucified in pretty much good health and was left to die.

The names shouted are Sura, Varro, Mira, Diotimos, Oenomaus, Duro, Donar, Nemetes, Sanus, Barca, Rhaskos, Acer, Liscus, Fortis, Vitus, Tychos, Sophus, Mannus, and Plenus. Finally all chant Crixus. The last couple names are the names of Gladiators of the House of Batiatus who debuted in Vengeance and died in the Episodes when they rescue Neavia from the Mines and are being hunted through the Forrest by Glaber'sTtribune Marcus and his Roman soldiers.

I love the attention and love this show gives to minor or secondary characters like this. Fortis, for example. He may only have one episode with dialogue, but it's a part of the story and he's remembered among the rest of them. It really stands as a testament to all lives holding equal value. Great show, powerful scene.

Don't know why the rebels mentioned Barca and Peitros though. They didn't give their lives so the rebels could be free. It's as if the writers couldn't think of any other characters to use. I always scoff at this scene.

I like to think that when Spartacus was staring at Naevia, he was silently cursing her for tearing him & Crixus apart and dividing their army. Naevia is the reason why Crixus fell and also why ultimately Spartacus & his remaining followers fell too.

Try to put yourself in their place, just think about how your life would be if you were born a slave, not have any choice besides your masters, being told what to do in every aspect of your 'life', worse than that, being torn from freedom and being forced to fight for what little remains of yourself, seeing your family paid for what you thought was right, as happened to Spartacus. If history has taught as anything is that you can't kill an idea, what Spartacus did, It never ceases to exist. I could drag this on forever but my point is every man needs a purpose in his life, would you rather die under your masters or fight for what you believe? Forget the hunger, thirst everything else, a man is never too weak or wounded to fight, If his cause is greater than his own.

Crixus was the biggest part of Spartacus becoming the fighter he did along with Onomeaus. The beating he gave Spartacus in the arena early in Blood and Sand was the wake up call he needed that while he may have been one of the tougher soldiers he still had so much more to learn at elite Gladiator level (like going from checkers to chess) and set him on the path to finding his true potential- which in the end exceeded that of Crixus himself (in my opinion, and only very narrowly).

I'm no expert in these things, but I feel like they did such a good job of developing the characters in a relatively short amount of seasons / episodes. Crixus went from being motivated by vain self-glory to motivated by love. The self-indulgent Gannicus became willing to give all for the cause. And Spartacus went from being impulsive, fueled by rage, to a master tactician and motivator, albeit still fueled by rage but also by the inherent worth of his fellow people. And of course they're all three absolute badasses in their own rights. I truly don't know which I love more...

Makes me tear up every time This is not only an outstanding scene it's the perfect way to remind the last ones standing why they should keep fighting and therefore you couldnt find a more suitable ending to the penultimate episode

Of all the inspirational speeches Andy Whitfield and Liam Nelson gave as 'Spartacus, from his first speech after the massacre at Batiatus' house; to the speech after Mira's death,' this speech has got to be THE most riveting and moving! Even now, after the show has ended, I STILL get goosebumps watching it. Although Crixus' character brought it upon himself due to his arrogance and refusal to listen, he was a champion who went out fighting for something he believed in. Awesome tribute.
