The avatar build process really is that good. I'm still freaked out by how good mine is and haven't found anywhere that's bettered it. Unfortunately I work in the NHS and, with the honorable exception of some research projects, VR isn't a thing there yet...

Everyone saying the future is here,and eager to see this thing in real world,I don't know what are things we gonna miss from our conventional past,to get this future...I can bet,none of the virtual interactions can substitute real life interactions, because that's nature... Let's hope for the best...

I LOVE Spatial and wish more companies would adopt XR collaboration in the current and post COVID world. I would make it my full time office space if I knew more colleagues that would participate. The web options are great but without companies adopting/authorizing use for their staff, it’s hard to use in the way I want at the moment. While I know this will change at some point, I’ve decided to create my own consulting company and adopt X-RAY capabilities to work with companies that have already adopted this technology. My current employer in financial industry has yet to appreciate the value this could bring to international banking. I’m going to see if I can build a bridge for them and others through my own business.

Virtual Post-its! Can't wait

At 1:50 we can see the rover. Would it be possible to import a 3D-file that is animated or can be moved, for example, to open a door of a car when presenting it to others. Or would it be possible, at least, to import a 3D-file of an object at once that is made of several individual parts so that we can move them around, for example, a body of a car and a door that we can move away or exchange it by an alternative door? So far, a kind of "magnetic" effect of objects is missing (correct me, if I'm wrong), so that it's hardly possible to import several objects individually and put them together like a car and its doors. Well, even that magnetic effect would help so much... thank you for your feedback!

Yes you can! You can pinch to make it bigger and drag it around with your hand. Pretty mind-blowing stuff!

@spatial how do you move around on the web version. if I'm in VR, a colleague is on the website with his laptop. can he move around the room somehow? or move the "camera" around? he is staring at a wall and can't see anything unless I move in front of him.
@Spatial_io3 жыл бұрын
Sorry for this SUPER late reply - as of today those on the web can join via their webcam, and upload content into the room. Those in AR/VR/mobile app can control the spectator camera to control what those in the web can see. But this is completely changing in a few weeks - stay tuned! We think you're gonna like it ;)

we use it regularly for meetings internally on existing HoloLenses. gone up to 2h in it. FOV in practice isn't that bad (of course we'd love more), but when your'e talking/listening to someone you just look directly at them and don't need that big FOV.
@MortenHaulik5 жыл бұрын
True, I use the HL a lot as well, but the idea as seen in this video is not just a meeting with avatars. Take the posted notes as a example, I would end up make multiple replicates, because I can't look at them all or even get a nice overview.

Who gets the biometrics data collected via headbands & IoT sensors: brain wave pattern, iris scan, vitals ( heartbeat, blood pressure etc) which of course will be monitored via Internet of Things and Internet of Bodies? Not the users, that’s for sure. Which third parties will get access : Palantir? Oracle? This tech is also ( of course) a perfect spying data collection: geolocation, sites visited , tasks performed. What happens with the intellectual property which of COURSE will come up as results of “ working collaborations”? With all data monitored and conversation recorded( that’s ON TOP of blood pressure, heartbeat, brain activity, menstrual cycle etc etc etc)? Asking for a friend.
