Don't forget one of the people that died in the submarine was the billionaires son who just wanted to spend time with his dad
@buttercookiesfourtwenty
'waiter! waiter! more billionaires please!' - the fucking titanic
@researcherchameleon4602
The Triton submarine having a bubble cabin design is actually what every submarine that has been to the titanic has done, because the water squeezes equally on all sides, allowing it to go much deeper than a cylindrical design
@The_Red_Spy_TF2
Is it just a thing that happens when you hit a certain threshold of money and then your braincells start dying??
@TomOrSMTidk
Next it’ll be the “Doohicky”
@KeebeThePlush
Thank goodness they aren’t using joycons to pilot the submarine because the drift would be crazy
@duckmanji
if your car fails, you're on the ground, if your helicopter fails, parachute, if your submarine fails, pray
@a_bat1
Mfw literal billionaires refuse to buy a 40 dollar controller for their potentially life-threatening dive into the ocean
@Canned_Tea
getting another titanic submarine being destroyed before GTA6 is released
@ed_cmntonly
Gotta give the Titanic credit, they still got that killing streak even after 100 years
@HARRAWISH
the guy who built titanic chilling in the afterlife:
@mahmoudsalaheddine8358
“IT’S EVEN FUNNIER THE SECOND TIME!”
@riverajustinmarks.
The titanic is becoming some sort of entity that has to eventually be fed with sacrifices. After it ate thousands in its initial sinking, it now requires more after years of dormancy.
@upi556
Titanic is taking lives god damn her killing streak never ends ( okay titanic is her you nerds English is my 4 language)
@ArheIy
Tbh, this time it's an actually tested submarine from Triton, and that corp makes things that are able to go into the Mariana trench. They're trustworthy enough.
@SeaToon
It’s only ironic that OceanGate failed in a very similar fashion to the Titanic, with overconfidence and a lack of good safety ideals and fundamentals
@pj1343
that new submarine looks like a futuristic coffee maker.
@TypicalBlox
Oceangate completely ruined the publics perception on submersibles, prior to Oceangate they had pretty much a PERFECT track record with no fatalities over thousands of dives, but now everyone thinks they're dangerous in which some degree they are but it was mainly poor engineering and cost cutting measures which doomed the Titan.
@gilliganallmighty3
James cameron, the guy who produces Hollywood blockbusters as a means of funding his diving, also the first person to solo dive to the deepest place in the ocean, has stock in Triton. I think this is a sign that their designs are functional.
@crazyguy_1233
The difference here is Triton has a very good reputation for making subs that go to that depth regularly. They do stress tests and they design their subs to be safe unlike ocean gate. Triton has a good history of making good subs. And another huge thing. They aren’t making it on a shoestring budget. Every sub that has visited the wreck before oceangate used a similar design to Tritan’s and there has never been an issue. Tritan makes subs that go into the Mariana Trench. Far more reputable than the dollar store oceangate.
