I know some may think its modern etc...But representing our culture is an honor in everyway we can potray it. Looking at our Young people indicates that our new generation is still living proof that our legacy is still alive and well. Too Good is all i can say. Malo lava

Yes they not even singing, but they did good even Samoa, they sing but their voices needs training. I still rooting for both… one culture, one language just different government but both Samoan do rooting for both, good job
@theephraimiteАй бұрын
Same here. I have roots in both Samoas and therefore root for both. To be honest however, Am Samoa outdid Independent Samoa because they brought energy with their vigorous and fast movements; whereas the other Samoa used teachers that are usually middle aged and don’t move as fast. Am Samoa disappoints in the instrument department as, instead of using pate and the fala, they use drums and a trash can. Seriously, a trash can. That’s embarrassing.
@pulotu_Ай бұрын
@@theephraimite its not a disappointment... us Manu'a ppl use trash gallon bins as instruments if you have family in Manu'a than you'll understand... no shame in using it because its part of our tradition.
@ran197127 күн бұрын
@@theephraimite i dont see why using a trash can is embarrassing. even if they do lack in the instrument department, they are great at being resourceful plus they probably prefer using the trash can, as it brings in way more sound effect. if you rep both Independent Samoa and American Samoa, why point out what they lack? You say you are rooting for both, but youre unintentionally putting down their hard work lol.

I'm sorry but American Samoa was a bit boring! The dancers had no energy pea lae e sisiva ma le fia magaia. Learn from the other nations who dance and sing with Pride and Mana. The dancers aren't even singing along and their showmanship is flat. I guess it's this TikTok generation.

You got some points, but to say they lacked energy tells us you must be blind. You must be from the other Samoa, which really lacked energy because they use teachers - old people. I have roots in both Samoas, so stop it.

Sorry, you ai lalafas! Although I've lived in California most of my life...o a'u ga fagau I Mesepa! Watch any fu'a or fiafiaga and see the real spirit of our people dancing and singing their faces off. I'm not gonna apologize about being critical about representation. This is different stage, which include all oceana nations. These nations perform their asses off. And ours was just not up to par with what is typical. Call me a hater...because your vocabulary can't come up with anything else. It's called constructive criticism. E kou malamalama pea e mamafa le kou pu isu? Kepa!
