Good, and actually i agree with your lubricant method. So much grease is good for ballbearings, thats give us more water resistense and shorter service interval

Very nice video, the best one out here IMO.

Hi, great video. I took off my pedals and noticed that one of them has a bearing noise. I found your movie and decided to give it a try. I was full of doubts because manual work is not my thing, but you explained everything so clearly and I managed. My pedals are less than a year old, and I can already hear the bearings. It's embarrassing for Shimano, especially considering it's not a cheap company. Anyway, I greased it up as you advised, and when finally tightening it, the grease even squeezed out. So, I guess there's not a millimeter of space inside without grease. Maybe I overdid it?

That’s great! Thanks for the note. No problem with extra grease squeezing out. Better too much than not enough!

Great video - however I've used Shimano XT/XTR pedals for a couple decades and never bothered to totally disassemble the pedal. Just pack it with marine grease after you take it off and wipe it, thread the pedal back on and loads of old grease will purge on tightening. 5 min job tops.

Agree, definitely an easier choice, and will get the job done in all but the worst conditions. I just happen to be the type of person that always takes things apart. It’s a problem, I know!! 🙂

How well are the pedals spinning with such a thick grease ?
@AnAvidCyclist10 ай бұрын
They settled in quickly and spin about like a new pair fresh out of the box would. to be fair, waterproof marine-grade grease is actually thicker than what I used, and most pedal manufacturers recommend that. I’m not sure what Wahoo has been doing, but speedplay used sta-lube marine grade from the factory and with strong recommendation.

It's an MTB pedal. You want to make sure that dirt gets captured before it grinds down your axle. So yeah, you want lots of grease.

What's the size of the steel ball bearings?

I measured them in this video, kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aamkgayG3sq4aX0.htmlsi=cYaVs_RFYLwc1Hnu, at 2.4mm. Both sets are the same and should have the same number
