Hi, welcome to ShuoshuoChinese 说说中文; my name is Shuo, I’m a native Chinese teacher living in Bangkok, Thailand, I’ve been teaching Chinese as a foreign language for more than 10 years and I’m also a language learner.
In this channel, I will upload a weekly video, in which I talk about Chinese vocabulary, Chinese grammar, Chinese culture, Chinese stories with pinyin and the English translation for listening practice.
With my channel, you can easily start to learn and understand complicated Chinese grammar, sentence structure, and differences/nuances between similar Chinese words.
If you are a Chinese beginner, I’m planning to upload videos about what Chinese language is, how it differs from English, Chinese pronunciations, Chinese characters and Chinese stroke sequences and a mini Chinese course, (10 minutes per day), which can help you learn quickly and easily. Don’t miss it!
So, subscribe to my channel and start your Chinese learning journey!

My God! I loved this video. 99% of people on youtube only teach basic conversations and speak soooo slowly. It is very rare to find someone who teaches actually spoken Chinese. Keep up the good work!

I REALLY like how you dropped a live action account to capture how people really fly with the language they are taught from a young age. That seals the deal for me.

As a Chinese tutor, I have to say Shuoshuo is a life-saver! These videos are helpful for my advanced students preparing for the AP Chinese exam or HSK, but they're also a huge help for boosting the confidence of my intermediate students in Chinese I or II in high school. Thanks for the consistently TOP quality content, Shuoshuo! 我不但觉得你的视频很高质,我和我学生也看得如痴如醉。又清楚又搞笑!

The first awkward situation made me think of something; it's kind of unrelated but it made me wonder what it's like in China. It's kind of a long explanation but it'll make sense in the end. 😂 I'm from America and I think it's pretty normal here that when you're in a store and you see a product that's broken or not as good quality as the others, you can tell an employee and they'll probably set it aside, throw it away, etc. Actually at my work we have a whole area for "damages" and I think we have to record them or something. Anyway however I lived in Japan for a year and did this occasionally when I went shopping. When I went up to the staff I explained (in Japanese, so unless I was saying something unnaturally this wasn't a language barrier problem), like "This is broken; it's not that I want to buy it but I just wanted to let you know." I don't remember how all of them reacted because I did it several times, but I think sometimes they were confused about what I was doing. I think they took it more normally when it was other kinds of products that were clearly physically broken, but maybe it was more confusing for them when it was about food? Like I remember this one time when I was in a grocery store and saw a bag of carrots that had mold inside and my thought was, "Well, no one's probably going to buy it anyway and even if they do it might not be good for them, so I'll just let the staff know." But when I tried to explain this to the lady at the cash register she looked really confused and even after I repeated myself she asked to clarify whether or not I was going to buy the carrots. I guess she was wondering why I brought them up there if I wasn't going to buy them. So I thought maybe it was a cultural thing of like, the staff is just expected to take care of problems like that themselves, not the customers, or maybe that lower quality products should still just be left out because someone might buy them anyway. (Honestly at this point I've kinda forgotten whether it's normal or not to do that in American grocery stores. 😂 But in other stores I think it's fine.) So basically my question is, if I see a product that is broken or low quality in China, would it be rude or confusing to tell the staff, or should I just leave it to them? Thanks to anyone who has advice! ~:~

i think your problem is, you need to further explain to them why you are bringing the item up to them if they look dumbfounded. "hello, i noticed these carrots have mold on them, i believe they should be disposed of, am i right or wrong?" lead it with a question so they dont just stare at you
