I'm losing my mind. "Turn the rhetoric down?" What does Trump do in every speech? Turns UP the rhetoric! Yes, we need to do that but start at the top. We are doomed because truth isn't truth anymore, black is green, yellow is orange, up is down. Before Trump came to town, heated political debate was the norm, not what's going on now. So, what changed??? We know what changed yet we just continue denying it to our own peril. Sad world.

That changed before Trump. You are playing catch up. The polarizing rhetoric has been aimed at Trump, and his Base. There are short sighted, horrible people in the conservative base... Everyone has their lunatics. But Trump makes up silly names for public figures. Your public figures, media, hollywood idols, your representatives.... all have been encouraging this. If it weren't so critical of a time, this would be comical situation in that your MSM has created polarized environment... and the irony and hypocrisy of that same media pretending to be surprised to find out by how they report news causes these exact issues. You need to stop assigning all of your grievances to a manufactured boogeyman and start actually applying some self reflection and think about the perspective you have prescribed to... and how its' be communicated to you.

I love watching the people who spent the last 8 years calling Trump literally Hitler and saying heinous things about him act shocked that this happened. Everyone who made such comments should be held to some kind of account, because if things were flipped, they'd be calling for the same.
