I liked this talk but believe strongly in a carbon tax. There are a myriad of ways to implement this. Currently you have corporate tax evasion, personal tax evasion, subsidies, tax credits, tax breaks and unpaid mitigation costs that fall to future generations. That is a tax on future generations without representation. Carbon markets are rife for green washing. The tax can be applied to windfall profits, try eliminating unnecessary subsidies. Try just collecting all the real costs of a commodity,/good from start to finish. That's like a tax on community health. It's a matter of perception. Someone is paying the tax already in terms of loss of income, living standards, health, ecosystem destruction and poor water quality. It's just not the polluter.
