The advice to start placing the speakers first close to the wall is coming too late for me 😅 I spent hours and many many many different positions of my Heritage Specials to find the best bass performance. Only when I recently got a UMIK-1 and REW, I realised that in my room the speakers were performing much better closer to the wall. I had never tried that because everyone said or wrote "they need at least one meter from wall to bezel". And I have to say that using that microphone can save you a lot of time to figure the best placement - as opposed to just using your ears.

I have a small room and Emit 10's They are 50cm from the walls. I like the balance of the sound better with the foam in the bass ports. Only when listening silently I remove the foamplugs. Love the sound!

You can connect using cables with Spades or Banana plugs.

I find it very accurate depending on measurement mic.

It can be a very good tool. The simulator is not as accurate as real measurements of course, but it can point you in the right direction. Use it as a rough guideline, don’t use it to move your speakers 5 cm back and forth 🙂

They should be at the distance they were designed for and that makes you happy with the sound.
