At the ukrainian he actually slipped in that he speaks swedish too (as spoken in swedish). Was quite impressed by the accent. It's usually hard for foreigners to recreate 🙌

Spanish is unnecessarily difficult and annoying. Are you an actual native speaker or have you been in the US your whole life?

@@robTCGZ Oh okay. I was just wondering cause your English is very good. Alot of Mexicans and others born in the US say they are not a native English speaker but a native Spanish speaker, but its usually not true as their Spanish is usually poor. Thats why I asked. May I ask what country you are from?

@@johnnoon9999 I am from Costa Rica. I actually made the original comment as a joke. I must admit, however, that sometimes I do make mistakes in Spanish. You are correct, it's a grammatical nightmare.

I remember the original interview well 😊 As wonderful as Steve is, I do remember though at the time being disappointed his son Mark didn’t get to discuss his 3 or 4 languages - Steve jumped in and took over 😜😎

It’s not so much about remembering words. It’s about spending a LOT of time with a language, so much so that the language begins to live in your head and become almost second nature. Similar to how you speak in your native tongue. You don’t think about it, you just do it.

Languages have its families. If you learn for exmpl Spanish you will understand a lot of French Italian and Portugesse and you will learn these languages a lot faster

He is outstanding. He is able to acquire the native pronunciation. Japanese and French were nearly accentless.

Bom dia fiquei impressionada com a facilidade de como o Sr aprende um idioma,Assisti um vídeo com um Sr português,foi muito interessante,Sou brasileira , na verdade em certos sinônimos ou uso coloquial de uma palavra são empregados no português do Portugal, diferentemente no uso do português do Brasil, a melodia da língua falada são diferente , (muitas vezes um português fala com um brasileiro ,e este não consegue entender ; por que ? : devido a fonética na pronúncia das palavras , sem contar em termos que o português usa completamente diferente de um brasileiro . De qualquer forma o importante é comunicação si fazer compreender pelo nosso interlocutor . Desejo lhe parabenizar por desejar aprender meu idioma 👏👏🇧🇷

Foreigners usually have a really bad accent in French, but this guy has a really fluent one

French is our second official language in Canada so it is a relatively easy language to hear, read and get experience speaking in here. He also worked for the Canadian government, which requires employees to be bilingual in French and English.

im confused, is the whole point of steve learning languages is for him to say: "I speak X language and Y language and Z language. You need to listen and read more. I use Lingq." but he says that in 20+ different languages. Is that fluency?

If this were a comment on almost any other internet polyglot's video, I'd agree. I'd definitely recommend looking into Steve some more - he's one of the few that's the real deal. He speaks about a dozen of his 20+ languages to what most people would consider to be a "high level", and the others are at varying levels. Obviously for a one minute video, you can't spend a whole lot of time on each language.
