There are different diversities of tongues. The tongues for personal edification, or personal prayer life, is for every born again believer. Don't let your "teachers" keep you from such a powerful gift from God. It's a revelation gift, that will enable you to grow in God like never before. Plenty of Scripture to show its for everyone who desires this supernatural, Holy Spirit inspired prayer language

Apparently, the dialect you receive is some known language in the world, already, TODAY! TONGUES is a "secret code" you pray to God (His perfect will for our life) and the DEVIL does not know what you are praying, then, he cannot interfere, and he is MAD!! Tongues BUILDS US UP AND I FEEL PEACEFUL. Plus God reveals things to you. I love it! Tongues will help issue in the return of Christ as the devil does not know what we are praying.
