Thats the point. Everybody who speaks the Ten Languages understands a little bit of Lingwas. I speak Español and English and I understand everything except the Chinese words.

I noticed how Lingwa de Planeta borrows a lot more words from other non indo European languages.

My attempted translation, before turning on the subtitles, having never studied the language or heard it spoken: "Hi. My name is Christopher and this is me speaking a language named LIngwa de Planeta. My first language is English, but my second language is Esperanto, and I'm learning German. About Esperanto... I am still learning to speak Esperanto. In fact, I talk about it in my videos. I like to learn languages. I record videos about language, also, if you would like to learn about my progress, please subscribe. If you would like to learn about Lingwa de Planeta, I put a link in this video's description. I have an instagram account if that interests you. You can find me in the links in the video's description. Thanks for watching. Please subscribe to my channel. Bye!"

You are incredibly talented :) It seems that you can pretty easily - and probably through a hard work -, learn and practice new languages. You speak " Lingwa De Planeta " like someone who would, since many years, speak it. You speak naturally, and even without any prepared text. And in your mouth, this language becomes alive and really attractive compared to my clumsy approach. You have my highest respect m(_ _)m. Me bu mog shwo kom yu; me bu hev sufi-shem jansa, bat yu dai a me yaosa lerni pyu :)

Oh, and I did sort of prepare. Although, I didn‘t have any notes or anything with me when I recorded the video, I did know what I wanted to talk about and had already been thinking about it for a couple of days. I hope someday to be able to talk freely without any preparation at all, but that will take a lot of practice!

@@LanguageStuff In fact, I do the same with my esperanto videos, because it's not really possible to find our words instantly with a language which we don't use daily to meet our (usual) needs. But, because I'm pretty comfortable with a basic speach of Esperanto, it doesn't take a too long time before I start making my videos - it's another thing with Lidepla :D

@@LanguageStuff It was the main purpose of my Lidepla videos : finding other people to convince me to keep my learning; even if I usually do my best for beautiful project that I can leave after a time, as it was the case with Pandunia. Me es felise ke nu mog kurajisi a mutu ;D
@LanguageStuff

I also tried to learn Pandunia a couple of years ago, but it wasn‘t stable and had a few changes while I was trying to learn. So I left and decided to maybe try again later when it is more stable. Maybe I will, but maybe I won‘t. If I go back to it, it will probably be a long time from now.

Wow, 2 weeks into learning Esperanto and I stumble upon these videos of yours. Inspiring stuff! As somebody who's gone through Esperanto already, would you recommend dropping learning Esperanto in favour of Lidepla? I really like Esperanto and its message, but I quite dislike how Europe-centric it is... Lidepla sounds like a solution to that!
@LanguageStuff

I think you should definitely keep learning Esperanto. Esperanto is 130 years old compared to Lidepla which has been stable only since 2010. So Esperanto has a lot more resources and a way bigger, very vibrant community who can help you learn. I will never regret learning Esperanto. I have enjoyed it immensely and it was the realization of the dream I‘ve always had to learn and speak a language other than English. That being said, I am really enjoying Lidepla. Actually it has been so easy to learn thanks to Esperanto because it has a lot of shared vocabulary. And the grammar is easier. Esperanto has also helped me learn German in a way because I am already accustomed to the accusative case. So, definitely finish learning Esperanto, but definitely try out Lidepla later on too!

If it's easier to learn than Esperanto and more fair in its vocabulary choices, why should I continue to learn Esperanto? Seems the point of a universal second language is to become THE universal second language for everyone. Otherwise we'll just have multiple second languages dividing everyone who wants to make the world a better and more universally understood place.

Keep learning Esperanto if international dominance is actually your goal. Lingwa de Planeta is less Eurocentric. It actually uses vocabulary from Chinese and Arabic. There's this thing called the conlang community, and thousands of people are making constructed languages that could hypothetically be used for international communication every month for fun because we're a bunch of nerds who have weird interests. Most people who speak Esperanto understand that it will almost certainly never achieve its goal of global or even European dominance (unless modern civilization collapses and we have to open the instructions for how to rebuild it, which Esperanto is in). Anyway, with thousands of people and over a century of learning from each other, there's bound to be a better one than Esperanto, which I think Lidepla is. However, I'm also happy to jump on the Esperanto bandwagon because, despite its flaws, it gets the job done and it has a bunch of momentum.

In Lingwa de Planeta which syllable of the words is stressed?
@tumitaa_konsole
@tumitaa_konsole Жыл бұрын
It's complicated, but the basic idea is: - usually the vowel before the last consonant is stressed (treat y as a consonant) - some suffixes are not stressed - if there is a doubled vowel, that will be stressed

What is the obsession of auxilairy languages using "mi" or "me" as the first person singular? If they commit to non-declinable nouns like Lingua Sistemfrater then I get it but otherwise....

I first listened to this without subtitles and was surprised to pick up most of what was being communicated, although context really helped with that also. Some uncommon words I recognized, "ni hao," "shukran," and "ciao."

I'm Brazilian, too, and I was able to understand pretty much 60% of what he said. My impression is that lingwa de planeta seems to borrow a lot of its structure from Portuguese, or at least other romantic languages, making it very intuitive for me.

Ekzemplo : piu (pli), zuy (plej), meno (malpli), minim (malplej). Wo (Kie), lo wo (tie), koylok (ie), ollok (ĉie), nullok (nenie).
@tumitaa_konsole
@tumitaa_konsole Жыл бұрын
"tie" estas normale tradukita kiel "dar", kaj iu parto de tabelvortoj estas regula, sed mi ĉefe havas similan impreson kaj opinion.
