Sweet little Bingo, such an adorable little guy! Poor guy, perhaps he is afraid of how deep the water is. He was a thirsty little one, I noticed that he kept drinking the water. LOL That was adorable! That tiny tongue of his is so cute! Have a wonderful day, baby!

As a former swimming teacher, specialised in helping the younger children (from age 5) losing their fear of water, I might understand what bothers Bingo... Remember that other time that he was introduced to the big bath? I guess he'd lost his trust back then. To bring back that trust, he needs to experience that you'll always be there in the same way as today. Sitting in the tub, letting him sniff a little, drink a little... and when he's ready to start playing (just like he showed you in the blue tub🙂), put out your hand, about 2 or 3 centimetres below water. So he learns that you'll always be there, but also that you'll catch him, should he fall (start to sink). Keep your hand in that position, but move along with him. Don't suddenly pull your hands away, that would destroy his trust... hugely. No matter how funny that might seem... it isn't, believe me. And somewhere in the future, he'll start swimming faster than your hand can follow... and he'll be the happy and fearless otter we all know that he can be. With his own blue tub if he wants to... Let's hope this works. In the meantime, give Bingo and Belle a big hug from their Dutch friends ❤💋❤. 👍🏻👍🏻, 💖💖💖🐶 🇳🇱

Poor Bingo :-( It would be too hard to train him now that he is 2+ years old. Any water training should have happened when he was younger. Still love Bingo (and his baby blue tub).

Luckily Bingo doesn't live in the wild.. Good job papa to encourage Bingo to swim. May be one day he is ready to conquer his fear of deep water. Love Bingo💕

Try placing the blue tub into the bathtub and if he likes it fill the bathtub a bit more everyday. Maybe that could work.

I don't think it's a matter of not knowing how to swim but if you look carefully he's always been worried about being able to exit the bath. His fear comes from assuming he'll end up stuck in it. Strangely even after seeing Belle enter and exit easily he still hasn't gotten over that phobia.

Pond loaches, I'm telling ya, he knows he can eat them, it's more incentive to get in and chase them.

I don't know if this would work or if it would even fit, but what about putting the blue tub in the bathtub and filling just the blue tub with water at first, then gradually over time adding a little more water to the actual surrounding bathtub every day until the blue tub is actually submerged in the larger bathtub? I seem to recall a video where something similar was tried with putting the smaller tubs into an already full bathtub and then trying to submerge them, but this is kind of the opposite of that - put the small tub in first and slowly over days let him get used to more and more water being around it until he's swimming in the whole bathtub without even realizing it. Again, don't know if this would work, but just an idea I had while watching this.

I guess more time in a big pool IF you can get Bingo in. Maybe try putting some food that he likes in the tub or pool. Bingo you're just to cute little Feller. NC, USA.

It's probably too late to get Bingo into the big tub and like it. You should have forced him into the tub when he was a pup, like his mother would've forced him to swim in a river even though he didn't want to.

The problem is that he’s was exposed to deep water too early from a few years ago. Right now he just has to get used to an empty big tub then fill it with water, that way the little cutie will get used to it slowly filling up, like with his other little tubs.

Maybe hold him and slowly go in the water with him 🤔

How would Bingo's mother teach him in the wild? Maybe if you fed Bingo in the tub. Start off shallow and gradually build up his confidence.

No matter what you do Bingo is not getting in that tub. He enjoys the shower and the little tub. We have to accept it for what it is. Bingo is in a different category of his own. Still love him though! 😊❤❤

Sometimes I wish Belle was introduced into Bingo's life sooner, I feel that she would have helped Bingo get over his fear of large pool of water and his detest of fish. Despite the loving owners, Bingo largely grew up without the instinct of an otter, I suppose that's fine since he's a pet in a loving home, and now that he have a mate, I feel much more happy for him.
