He goes from the temple veil tear to the HS as a dove on Jesus to all say what now? ;) I see he is saying some good stuff that Dan Mohler has been saying for years (fully man/fully God)...And the fact he repeated “greater works than these you will do...” just shows you he is not a bible scholar because the Greek texts says “MORE” not greater. Because if you are enlightened by the Spirit, you would ask, “can I do greater things than Christ? Something is off with the translation” ;)

@@wayfarer1101 Praise God, that's great! I also was drawn closer to God by "thinking out of the box" in my earliest days. But that led me down a dangerous rabbit hole of thinking I had manifesting power. Please consider Acts 16:16-18 when the Apostles encounter a psychic announcing them for days and days: "These men are bond-servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you a way of salvation." Even though she told the truth, even though she was announcing the true gift of salvation, they rebuked the spirit out of her. My point is, even false spirits can point you to God. Bill Johnson infamously said, "God is bigger than his book," but Ephesians 2:19-21 says the household of God is built on the words of the prophets (Old Testament), Apostles (New Testament) and Jesus is the cornerstone. When you respect "the book" as God's divinely inspired word, you want to devour it and learn the meaning within context, not just verses pulled out from here and there to make it seem like Jesus came to earth to give us special powers, that we are now exactly like him if we just have enough bold faith to believe. That is the oldest trick in the book when the serpent deceived Eve. I hope you develop a deep curiosity for the scriptures some day, and that it leads to love of the word because once you do, you will never fall for Bill Johnson's or Bethel's deception ever again. You won't even be able to tolerate their "sermons" anymore when you see how much is taken out of context and how much of what they teach on stage is personal experience. (p.s. I'm not talking about reading the bible to find hidden mysteries, look for clues.of forgotten knowledge, etc like I admit I used to do. I mean within the context of the time, place, and culture of the time.)

But isn’t it interesting even a demon understood the authority that people today still find hard to believe in. They are liars and deceivers, much like those which Jesus and the disciples encountered in their time, and warned us about, and should be called out as such. That is not judging, it is called discerning and reprooof, and was exactly what Jesus and the disciples spent much of their ministry doing. We are not called to judge people in the world, that is Gods prerogative alone. These people are teaching dangerous heresy in the name of Christ, and are leading many down the road to destruction. I agree! JL is one of the few popular preachers to stick to Biblical truth and speak out against culture that wrongfully makes its way into the church. Bill Johnson is a known false teacher. This association is very concerning.

In Mark chapter 4 scripture talks about 2 categories of people: those who have ears that hear, and those that have ears that don’t hear. In Mark chapter 7 scripture talks about the religious people of the day (Pharisees and some of the scribes) that hold on to the traditions of man, in fact verse 7 states: teaching as doctrine THE PRECEPTS OF MEN. Verse 8 states that they neglect the commandment of God by doing so. Unfortunately, many religious people of our day are much like the religious people that are mentioned in scripture. They seem to be highly respected among some religious people, because of their official religious position, education and, or eloquence. However, Christ called them hypocrites; in other places, he called them blind guides, and white washed tombs full of dead man’s bones. One of their characteristics, according to scripture, was slanderers. Many times when some “religious authority” that seems eloquent and highly respected, utter slanderous accusations against another minister, we go around parroting what we’ve heard with the same slander. Scripture indicates that when the blind lead the blind, that they both fall into the ditch. The solution for this dilemma is to be completely familiar with what scripture says according to the Spirit of God, not by what some blind guide tells you what scripture says or means. When criticism of a ministry is uttered or deserved, the criticism must be based specifically on how the scripture was violated, not by some parroted opinion of some religious blind guide. So, do you have ears to hear, and eyes to see? Without these, you may be a religious hypocritical slanderer when you parrot your criticisms based on the opinions of blind religious guides.

I'd be curious which part. imho, the strongest critics of Bill are ones who Thomas Jefferson'd their bible by eliminating spiritual gifts in the church, for instance, and they perpetually use straw man arguments in condemning people who are clearly bearing fruit in Jesus' name.

Be "doers" of the word and not just "hearers". Taken further, follow teaching of "doers" rather than big talkers who don't do the word.

Does it not strike you as odd that you quote from a man made book trying to convince me that it is somehow divine? The theory that it is Gods word is in itself a man made theory/doctrine that was dreamed up by man a few years after the AV was printed in 1611 the doctrine of verbal plenary preservation. the book has become your god.

I could easily answer the question, but you would place zero confidence in the answer, because it would come from the book which as you stated , is not credible. When two individual's, have placed their confidence and trust, in two different final authorities. They will be wasting their efforts trying to come to agreement, The bible is my final authority in all things spiritual. I have no idea what final authority you have placed your confidence in. Frankly, I couldn't care less, I did not come on this comment stream to attempt to prove that God exists, or that the bible is indeed His authoritative Word. its not a biblical question i am a Christian and i believe in salvation . i am asking you how were people saved before the man made bible was printed. the bible is a very interesting book of history , the history of other peoples faith. i like history books and i studied the bible for many decades and for much of that time i thought it was the perfectly preserved word of God. I dont now.

Exactly!! I’m disappointed in James River and the leadership there. I attended for 9 years and, after being away from church, my eyes were opened to some “off” things in the church.
