@@OfficialDemego And she did some horrible things to him. She even said, after her brother had died, that she wished it had been Marshall. A toxic mother is not someone you are obligated to do ANYTHING for as an adult. It's not like she was this fantastic mother who didn't deserve any of the bitterness in his songs. She earned her way there. Plenty of teenage mothers don't act the way she did. She has herself to blame for their broken relationship. No one is accountable for the actions of another. He doesn't owe her anything.

I have a wonderful mom but I have same thing with some old friend. I still love her, not a single bit of negative feelings towards her but I don't want her back in my life. I am good knowing that she is doing well in her life. Eminem is capable of loving and showing through actions and when he broke the cycle, that thought would not have stopped that his mother could have done that for him. People preach about forgiveness and all but how can you forgive when you are still suffering as a result of what happened. People make peace with it. He made peace with it and his mom too would have to do the same. He did everything for his children to not have the same feelings towards him or other ppl bcz if someone has even 1 people reminding that no matter what, I love you then that person doesn't turn hateful even towards others.

@@nickinicole9072Right!! I know firsthand that sometimes it’s so hard to forgive. I was adopted & my adopted parents split when I was 7. My adopted mom only wanted her biological son. She said & did things to me that no child should ever have to endure. As parents we’re supposed to protect our kids from pain & abuse, not cause it. I think it just cuts so much deeper when the abuse comes from the very people that are supposed to love us the most. I’ve tried to forgive her, but it was so hard. She passed in 2008, she never apologized for anything. My stepmom however did! Made all the difference in my life. I felt like no one loved or wanted me.

Forgiveness is just a result of healing the wounds caused by the offender, which can take months, years, or a lifetime. Letting go of anger/forgiveness can be pacifying, rather than beneficial to the victim's mental health. It can be detrimental and a form of emotional abuse if what you said is said to a victim too soon.

Generational trauma isn't a real thing.
@virginiaviola50974 ай бұрын
@@MichaelS00 it is. It is a very real thing. If you don’t know that then you are a very fortunate person. If a person’s childhood is traumatic it leaves scars, and inevitably those behaviours repeat. Not always, but often. Poverty, unemployment, family violence, substance abuse, abandonment issues, divorce, missing parents, neglect, loss of self-esteem.. it’s all established early and sadly the cycle is repeated in adulthood. You can certainly see that very early on in Marshall’s career, but he switched things up for Haley. Because even money isn’t enough to repair a damaged childhood and the way it raises its ugly head in adulthood. Kurt Cobain, John Lennon in his ‘20’s, Sinead O’Connor just to name a couple of famous people. Then there’s the tragedy of being Black in America..Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston, Rick James…. and that’s only a few famous people. There are millions of people who are just stuck in an endless cycle that gets handed down, generation after generation. I wish that you were right, but reality says you aren’t.
