Oil or more specifically energy directly correlates to driving economic growth in a country's economy. But it won't matter as the worlds economies will start to contract once food shortages and scarcity will ramp up this fall into winter once yields and fall harvest numbers come in. Look at Sri Lanka and other 3rd world countries to be the first dominos.

@Dragonlord Peteyep here in Canada there are ppl,around 100,000 that live in the Yukon and Northwest Territories, and isnt very warm here put it that way in the winter in north/central Canada where I live . But we're used to it

Getting rid of NATO and demilitarizing are two different things. You need an army, and it should be the toughest one you can muster. You need alliances. You should have as many as possible provided they are predicated on peace. NATO however, is different. It has become an offensive alliance with a longterm strategy of expansion and growth. Let me ask you a question - suppose the dangers from Russia and China disappeared overnight. Would NATO disappear too? If not, then we might have a bigger problem on our hands.

It's just that we are on a trajectory for war (possibly nuclear) and I'm concerned that NATO is the primary driver of this, as George Kennan predicted, unless something changes. You might be right, and there's nothing we can do about it, but I still think we should do everything to try while maintaining a strong military.

Yes ,though ,and I know the video is about Norway ,but more broadly about the Arctic ,and there are about 6 Nato countries in the Arctic,or soon will be 6 counting Finland and Sweden ,so theres those plus the US (Alaska) , Canada ,Denmark (Greenland ), and Norway

Looking at the globe north pole Russia seems to surround a hell of a lot of the arctic

@@Marvbarn654 Maybe by land mass. But Siberia is pretty much undeveloped, and far from anything. Where as Greenland, Alaska and northern Norway + Svalbard, is pretty well developed. All the russians really have going for them, is the Kola peninsula. But like most russian land, it hasn't really seen a lot of upgrades since the fall of the USSR. The amount of land they posses, could easily turn out to be a stone in the shoe.
