That's why as long as I get in the military I'm going for the 20 years, that way I get a nice pension and I can do a "fun" job like this, while still being able to live comfortably.

@@nickhasaproblem375 pension is not comfortable after 20 you only make 50% of your monthly pay check for whatever rank you were when you got out. hopefully you can get a decent disability rating. Those two together; one if you climbed the ranks decent enough to see a good monthly chunk for pension and two if your VA rating is good you could possibly see 4k+ a month combined. But that’s if you make E7+ or Any officer route. And log any medical incident while served. Also the military is pretty miserable across the board except the USAF. I did 7 years in the USN I got out as an E5 last year I’m 27 now so I’m fairly young still. But being blunt man this shit is hard very hard mentally and physically the shit is not fun wheather you are boots on ground, behind a desk or on a ship the shit fucking sucks. If you join make sure you find a job that translates well in the real world. The most fun options in the military tend to be the hardest to obtain whether it’s some crazy good ass orders and you have a really good job or you have to go through hell for some spec war shit but you’ll be badass and so cool shit.
