I developed this skill as well, because I was part of a disabled farmers association as a kid so many of my adult friends were severely injured but I had no problem understanding them. It takes a little time to get the persons speech patterns but it’s a great ability to be able to communicate with those that others may not be able to. I forget most sign language though.

Kudos to this man for trying to speak as normally as possible, I think my mouth not doing what I wanted it to would be really frustrating. Disabilities like this are the result of the sin (the breaking of God’s law) in the Earth-it causes a variety of issues (not that this particular man did something to deserve his condition that the rest of us haven’t). God told us in this life we will have issues, and He feels with us. But He’s also promised that if we repent (turn away from) from our lives and believe in Him, He will one day give us new bodies to enjoy in a completely blissful eternity. Thank you Chris (and Cody) for this, and many other reminders, that every iteration of life is beautiful and worth valuing. With them, I’m able to more truly appreciate how lucky I am for my health and fortune. You’ll find that girl Cody.

Hi Cody! Talk about perseverance! I am glad you were able to be on a large platform and share your story. Our son he has cerebral palsy, and it can be frustrating to him when his body is not cooperating, but he has worked through it, and has taught his father and I some lessons in life. Take care and sending good vibes your way!

It’s called mirroring. It’s why we sometimes do what others do when we talk with them, or in this case watch them. It’s an unconscious thing we do in an effort to develop rapport with people, as if saying ‘we’re similar, let’s be friends.’ Pretty cool thing we do and don’t even usually realize we’re doing it in the moment. :)

Cody, you are so inspiring. I appreciate your advice to 'get off your butts and get out there'. That's definitely something I need to hear sometimes! You seem like a really great guy. I know once the right lady has a chance to get to know you, you'll find your dream girl. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't happen quickly. These things take time. Matters of the heart are the most complex in nature, but worth waiting for. Thank you for doing this interview! I wish you all the best life has to offer. Xoxo

What a great man, and hella nice suit. 👌 I've been recovering from a broken leg and it's been a incredibly humbling experience, I've had some of the worst depression and frustration just temporarily not being able to walk and do my usual things - I cannot imagine the way he feels having a totally able brain and a body that just can't. Anyone know his @?

Omg dude I am so sorry you have to live with this. It blows when your brain and your body don't synchronize. As someone with TBI and was paralyzed with a tracheotomy, I feel you. You just want to speak.....but you can't get it out the way normal people do, and they simply don't have the understanding to listen and have patience. I hope you find love!! It really makes life worth living.

My grandson drowned 5 years ago and he was brought back to life and was in the ice for 1 month and the doctors told my daughter to let him go because that's as good as it will get, but she refused and he started to progress until he was discharged home and he has had daily nursing since then. The recovery is very slow but we keep praying and having faith in God's time he will speak to us. He knows us but he can't talk or smile and he seems like he gets frustrated trying to communicate. He's always having some sort of therapy and they never give up on him.He is 10 years old now and I can't wait till the day when he can communicate with us, our faith will get us through this. This gentleman proves there is always hope. God bless him!
