Hi Ashley, great job as always. What do you with the down pipes when cleaning and using biocide. Run off into foul drain or capture it ?

Yes, we can either block up or disconnect the down pipes during the cleaning.👍🏼

I mostly just use low pressure. It’s easier to work with.👍🏼

Hello. Which system do you use for the Biocide/chemical? Is it just like a trolley for window cleaning with normal water fed pole, and then you fill up with chemical and water instead ? :)

Yeah, basically a WFP pump trolley. It’s so easy just to switch over the barrels. I use a brush with fan jets.👍🏼

How don you measure the roof mate?. I tried from google earth but because the roof is sloped it doesn’t close the shape to the proper outline with the measuring tool.

Yeah, you can measure the length but you have to add a bit on for the width. It depends how accurate you want to be I suppose, but you soon realise that they’re mostly quite similar. It’s always best to go and see the customer if possible.😉👍🏼

Hello Ashley, I want to express my gratitude for being a source of inspiration. I began watching your content over the summer and used it as motivation to launch my window cleaning business. It's been going decently, but I'm facing challenges when it comes to choosing the right Customer Relationship Management (CRM) approach. I have clients in the same area, but they require services on different days of the month. I've received advice to schedule clients for every four weeks on a specific day (e.g., Mondays every four weeks) due to many clients lacking back gate access. What are your thoughts on this approach?

I use Get Soapy. You can try it for free here: getsoapy.com/amtrial I try and get my customers to fit in with the rest of my round if possible. I changed from a four week schedule, to a once a month schedule to allow for some flexibility. I only have a few that I message first to open the gate. It’s an Mi Tower. We would hire it from HSS Hire at first, then we bought an ex-hire one they were selling off. So that was handy.😉👍🏼

Everything online says it can damage the roof and shouldn't pressure wash it. Has there been any jobs that any damage has been caused?

There are roofing contractor organisations that say you shouldn’t pressure wash roofs. But they’re not professional pressure washing contractors are they, and many people don’t understand that there’s a big difference between using a powerful turbo nozzle at full pressure and a flat surface cleaner at reduced pressure with that pressure being split across two fan jets- it’s a much more gentle way of cleaning. So it’s a shame that a few might be ruining it for the rest.🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve changed my method from hand tools to the pressure washing method now. I do get customers that get concerned when I start jet washing their roof even after explaining that it’s low pressure. What do you say to the customers to put them at ease??

I use a specialist setup, very different to when I’m cleaning paving. The pressing from the machine is reduced, then split across two jets, then spread out from wide fan nozzles. So the whole thing is finely balanced to be able to clean off the dirt and take the best care of the tiles. We also always treat with biocide afterwards.👍🏼

Yes I tell them basically the same thing apart from the pressure being split between 2 nozzles. Have you tried to twin turbo nozzle attachment for roof cleans yet? I’ve been looking at them this morning for the hard to reach areas.

Why not just scrape and let biocide does it's work?

Yeah, you can if you want, that’s another option. I find this way gets more instant results and gives the customer the wow factor. Then the biocide gives the regular maintenance side of things.👍🏼
