CORRECTION: What I labeled "CD4+" in the diagram is actually the "TCR," which stands for "T-Cell Receptor." The CD4 glycoprotein is a coreceptor with the TCR, but it's not shown in my diagram.
This is how our bodies learn to identify a new pathogen and develop immunity to that pathogen in the future.

To add a bit to the cell-mediated response for people reading the comments, the infected cell presents the antigen via the MHC-I (instead of the MHC-II of the APC cells) and the T-killer lymphocyte uses the CD8 receptor for that antigen

But T8 lymphocytes need T4 lymphocytes so how did T4 lymphocytes get activated if they don't recognize CMH1
@Charles-uk6ur
@Charles-uk6ur 6 күн бұрын
@@zizojaezekeom3565 well the macrophage has MHii that presents the antigen,the MHii and is recognised by cd4.while the affected cell has MH i that it presents the antigen with and is recognised by cd8 in short macrophage MHii - cd4 affected cell MHi - cd8

Your videos have single handedly taught me all of the systems that we need to know for the MCAT! I never took anatomy as its not required for us and when I started studying I had regrets on not taking it, but man your videos on the immune system, digestive, respiratory, circulatory and kidneys have literally taught me everything!!! Your videos are so well put together and so easy to follow I hope KZfaq pays you a million dollars a year for your services :) Question about the immune system: So what is the difference between MHC-II and MHC-I? Are MHC-II's only present on macrophages? Seriously thank you x 1000 and I hope to use your videos throughout medical school once I make it there :)

The problem is, everybody start to modify the truth at the moment of the cross between innate and adaptive immunity so I can’t know what is real or not real ... - The T helper cell learn the shape of the antigen presented by the APC and goes on ? OR - The T helper cell have already learn a antigen specificity at the birth and goes on only if himself and the APC match ?

I would be very careful if you listen to this and use it to learn immunology. It is oversimplified. For example, CD4 does not define specificity nor does it recognize antigenic proteins. This is mis-leading. Be careful.
