Super Glue has been around for a while, but it is usually limited to a clear color. But what if you want to add some color to this product? In this video, I test out a few ideas.

Fun experiment!! We recommend using our Pigment Dispersions to tint TotalBond CA Glue! You can use some mica powders, like you did here, but it can catalyize the glue around it and make it smoke and what not if using too much or wrong color, which is why we always recommend doing a test like this first! The pigments will also affect drying and cure times. Using a liquid dye like our Pigment Dispersions tends to work better, or dyes for candle waxes.

Wonder if it would work with liquid dye instead of powder???

There's chemicals in liquid dye that would probably react with the glue...but maybe food coloring would work.

Does work. But not food grade. It will make it more fluid though .

using a liquid dye tends to work better, we recommend TotalBoat Pigment Dispersions to tint our TotalBond CA Glue!

this takes me back to my youth, and when using glue on model plastic aircraft and vehicles if you used the wrong glue the model would melt and we tried different glues on Polystyrene to see which ones would melt it . next time use paper cups or glass as the glue will not react to them only stick, thanks you for the video

From the Loctite technical people, yes, keep your CA glue in the fridge - but ONLY until you open it. Then, don't put it back into the fridge.

LOL, I knew exactly where this video was going. To be honest you even got kind of lucky with that silicone. Even though it's destroyed I was expecting it to look a lot worse. Super glue will destroys silicone on contact. It's like putting a drop on your clothing. That spot is just gone. I'm guessing the sand absorbed most of the reaction cuz I didn't even think you'd be able to pull the Legos apart. Anyway I only know this because I forget all the time, LOL. Nothing wrong with experimenting though. Like others said if you wanted to decorate I would put down your powder first and then add glue to seal it.

Thanks for this video. I was thinking about using CA glue for small engravings in various colors. The first sign of smoke would have me running for a chemical mask. Not sure what you may have been breathing in there.

If you squeeze the cup together in the middle , it will automatically form a nice pouring spout

Dye baking soda with the mica, put it in the mold, then use the CA glue and it’ll sort of instaset. May need to layer the lego in the mold. Dont forget mold release

CA glue reacts with water. You can get the same results as spray on accelerator as you can with tap water. I’m guessing if there is moisture content absorbed by the mica it will cause it to seize like in the red with the thin

Brilliant, butnomuchmicapowder, and use respirator, and medium or thick with no accelerator, and have fire extinguisher ready! 🤔Reminded me of that Frankenstein show scientist when I was a kid. 🧐 You forgot the disclaimer, “kids do not try this at home, and adults, this is only for entertainment purposes, and use is at your own risk!” 🤫 GLITTER next! 😂 Oh, think you should have tried liquid colourant, with a dab will do you.

The way to do this is to fill the hole with your color then add the CA on top.

Even if it did work.....what would be the benefit of using glue instead of epoxy....which is specifically made for this? lol

Mica is a mineral, so you are basically just super gluing sand together.

I love seeing you do experiments. But don’t just do what everyone else is doing. That seems to be a thing where a technique or project or experiment goes viral and then everyone just does their take on it. It’s ok if it’s actually different, but when 10 different channels (or more) are doing the same thing over and over, it gets old.
