Young man holding your cards with a pool noodle is a great idea for small hands. You gave me the idea for giving a pool noodle for cards to senior citizens with arthritis or other hand problems, great for their card games. Thank you♥️

I love these things. We adopted a beautiful, but young and adventurous cat. She was squeezing into every nook and cranny in the house including behind the washer / dryer and behind heavy furniture and getting stuck. Pool noodles solved that problem immediately. Now that she is older, and I have seen the video, I have left over noodle pieces and have alot of good ideas for what to do with them.

Doing in home care for the elderly I used pool noodles on the side rails of the hospital beds so my clients didn't bump their heads on them. Like you I cut and split to fit. Another project was the shower chair. The elderly get frail and thin skinned, their bodies are a boney frame. I took the pool noodles cut to length, threaded a long shoe string through them and lined the shower chair with them. Put a towel over the noodles to prevent sticking. No more sore bones.

@@suezbell1 A wonderful share Sue which I hope many see and copy to keep their space cozy on less money. I hang curtains in the doorways using spring-loaded rods as I don't have central heat or A/C so the curtains keep both in just the room I'm using. It also allows my cat to come and go as he chooses, something not possible with a closed door. The curtains soften the look and feel of my apartment but best of all is my utility bill is a small fraction of what neighbors pay!

Attached to the end of the shelf by cutting it open and sliding it on the same way as your door stopper. --Also pool noodles cut to about 5" or 6" long and slid up on bed legs is a great way to save your toes when you need to find your way in the dark. More uses: To fill a mop bucket from the kitchen sink, using a noodle as a hose. Also they work great to mark tent ropes when you are camping, and slip down over the tent pegs. I use one on the rim of my 5 gallon buckets so when I am out, I can easily sit on them. They are good to color code water hoses for different parts of the yard or garden. Putting one around a tall stake in the driveway helps you stay on the pavement when its covered with snow.

I bet it looks pretty cool. I have two cautionary tales. In one house I lived in, there was a metal strip in between the garage floor and the drywall to the house. We thought that was great because if you hosed the garage floor the house drywall wouldn't get wet. Some sneaky termites came in between the metal strip and the drywall and ate their way up the inside of the drywall behind a chest of drawers. We only saw the damage when we moved the chest and saw daylight through tiny holes at about eye level. At next house I knew to check for termites. Found evidence. Exterminator said keep everything at least an inch away from all interior & exterior walls. He said, "2 kinds of houses in MO: those that have termites & those that will get termites."

Our house that I own was built in 1913. Thanks for the sealing the bottom of a door idea. I have used foam strips with adhesive around the door frame that works pretty well. It won't work at the bottom of the door but your 'pool noodle' idea will work on both the back door and the side door. Our front door is blocked off by my wife's plants and I sealed the door in the frame with silicone caulk. There's no draft either in or out. The back and side doors both have cold air come in at the bottom in winter. It looks like I can now fix that.

My younger brother was an escape artist by the time he was a year old and could walk. He could unlatch windows, crawl through and drop to the ground. He used a broom handle to unlatch a screen door and escaped. He would do that when Mom thought he was sleeping in his crib. She was really stressed with him!

Using some nylon cord and about 10 to 15 pool noodles, tie them together by running the cord through each noodle as they lay side by side, then weave the cord and the noodles to form a pool raft. You can make it as big as you need it.

Maybe a well known hack but a good one….cover the springs on your trampoline.. I have a thin dresser behind the front door that the curtain hardware was gauging. Slid a sliced noodle over the dresser pull. Noodles make the most perfect bumpers. If you want grey or black use pipe insulation. It also comes in different sizes.

Thanks for that one. I just bought property to homestead. Two friends came up with their travel trailer and one of them hits her head on everything possible. A hidden talent I never know about.. I grabbed a pool noodle for the rim of my 5 gallon bucket at Dollar general. Since it’s end of season they were ~50 cents , so I grabbed a handful thinking they’d come in handy. She laughed at me. Wait until I go down and line all the hazards on her camper. Who’s laughing now? Thanks to all for the great ideas.

I'm a pool noodle fan, also. Most dollar stores have (in the pool section) little styrofoam kick boards. I have two, green, shaped like frogs. I use those for under my knees, and on my gardening stool (I have lumbar spinal stenosis which makes life very challenging) between my tush and the stool seat. I also put one of them under my elbows as I work on my raised garden beds. I keep a couple in my house so if I need to clean my clothes washer's filter, I have something soft on which to kneel. They are way less expensive than the hardware/gardening store kneeling pads, and last just as long. :-)

Another use: Cut short sections (1-3 ft) of orange or yellow pool noodles to slip over the end of ground stakes (for example, tent stakes). Gives a visual warning cue to help avoid tripping on the 'hidden' stakes out of the normal line of sight. I also put 6 inch sections on the boundary marker stakes at our property corners. Helps prevents running them over them with the mower. They last 2-3 years outdoors before needing replacement.

I found most - not all - of the pool noodle projects to be things that Hubbs and I don’t need or wouldn’t use. We’re 60s, no children; but I do applaud the child-safety pool noodle projects. The one that I just LOVE: pool noodle under-door-draft-blocker. Goodness, our house is 75 years old and so drafty that I’m ready to get those old, too-big jeans and start cutting! No pool noodles available this time of year in our tiny town, but the hardware store has pipe insulating foam tubes. Thanks!

I position the noodle straight down my spine area and use a thin pillow or a small towel for my head. I don't know how but when I wake up the pain is pretty much gone! I LOVE several of your other idea's for noodle use as well and plan to go today and purchase a few more noodles. I know the noodle makers use all the bright colors for the kids in the pool but perhaps they should consider making some in adult colors for use around the house! Just say'n! Thanks for your video! Reading through the comments, I just got an idea: for bicycles at night (some have to do that for various reasons) put a pool noodle on the cross bar(s) from front to back, with reflective stickers or paint on it; it's a larger area of reflectivity so the bike is much more easily seen. (I would suggest strongly that a reflective jacket also be worn for more safety. )
