I always thought that, what I called slicks, were the actual flow of current from incoming/outgoing tides. Nice to hear something different and I'll definitely use a different tactic..Thanks for sharing.

That's also true. Don't confuse slicks with current lines. Slicks tend to be roughly circular.

I knew there was something about fishing a slick but had no idea why, thanks for the info. Had success doing just that last fall, caught on to it by just noticing every time we hit specs there as a slick. Dumb luck, haha. Another great video Todd.

Had an awesome family trip to Delacroix today. A few reds and twenty nice trout. Have been fishing there over the last few weeks to catch the trout run, but today just seemed like on of those days where the bite was just not there. Coming home with twenty isn't too shabby though 😉. And thanks for the reference to older satellites imagery. Definitely something to check out.

Awesome video. Magneto is my number 1 under the cork. That area looks very similar to our home waters over here in grand Bay. Similar fishing too! Loads of 11-14 inch trout with bigger fish mixed in.

Fish out of Delacroix almost exclusively for the last few years and just added double power poles to my boat - game changer. Just curious why you chose a spot-lock equipped trolling motor over shallow water anchors.
@MarshManMasson
@MarshManMasson 5 жыл бұрын
I really like Power-Poles; no doubt about it. But some of the water I fish, particularly in the wintertime, is too deep for them to be effective.

Enjoyed the video Todd! I'm still learning how how to use some lures. If you could make a video showing how to use popular lures used in LA I'd appreciate it. It's hard going through 10 videos where they're all long and only spend a minute talking about how to use the lure and the rest is random stuff. It would be extremely helpful just breaking down the use of twitch baits, chatter baits, jigging different lures like craws, etc.

I can’t remember if I asked you this or not, but do you freeze any of the trout you catch? I have some in the freezer frozen in water in ziplock bags that I need to thaw and see how well they held up. I’ve always done freshwater fish this way and the fish have kept for up to two years. But I’ve been told that you can’t freeze trout.
@MarshManMasson
@MarshManMasson 5 жыл бұрын
I don't freeze fish because I fish so much. I find freezing reduces the quality of all fish.
